I was about to say the same thing. What's up with Vet Minimum guys holding this much leverage now?

 

I don't know what other offers he may have, but whatever the offers are they won't be for much.

If he seriously chooses to sign with another team over a small amount of money it will be a really f**king stupid move on his part. We are the perfect landing spot for him. One good season here in the national spotlight being spoon fed open threes, he could sign a contract worth 10x whatever he's likely being offered right now.

Totally. I’m not going to pretend like I know what happens in the offices and during negotiating, but why does it appear that agents don’t use this logic?
Maybe some agents aren’t confident they can hold onto some players and want to capitalize on the commissions of today? I dunno.

I guess the Rockets are looking more at a 3/4 (Ennis) than a 3/2, maybe Bazemore will eventually come here after all...

 

Perhaps the Rockets like Ennis' defense better for the role they envision for them...and have the shooting/scorer role lined for for someone else.

 

Haha. This reporter makes no sense. So Nunallys agent is saying that the team is not interested in his client (fair) but the agent is also reporting where Houston’s interest is?

 

Less than 24 hours before Luc left, Kelly had the story about him looking around, not being a lock to stay, and the Clippers being one of his suitors.

He also had the initial Capela offer (and Clint's desires) 24 hours before ESPN's Tim MacMahon had the same story, although Feigen is now citing a different number so I'm not sure where the exact truth is there. But I think everyone takes MacMahon seriously (as they should), and Kelly beat him by a full day on the same story.

In June, Kelly was pretty much the only person I saw on the Rockets beat who didn't believe Trevor Ariza would stay.

He's not perfect (no one is), but Kelly has been pretty damn good.

Yep, agents all talk with each other and understand what their clients competition is when negotiating with teams. Hell, some of them even post on here what their findings are, we call them "insiders."
