I kind of get what HTM is saying. While the “one extra FG” argument seems silly, do you think on THIS squad, with an actual system, our HOF playmakers setting him up, getting most his minutes against second units (though I do think he starts), he won’t make one extra FG a game? I’m pretty sure that is a more than reasonable expectation. One FG and he goes from being seen as an inefficient chucker to a great third option. I think player here could do a lot for his image and many could be eating their words similar to those who said CP/Harden couldn’t co-exist. With the defense argument, no one is calling Melo a world beater but for a long stretch I thought that OKC had one of the better defenses in the league. Though I might be remembering wrong. While that certainly wasn’t because of Melo it also shows that a team can still have good defense with him on the court. And again that’s a team without the structure, leadership and culture that the Rockets have cultivated. I’m honestly excited.
Pretty much all I'm saying right here. Obviously I have bias which I won't argue with but that was my point. 1 shot makes him a better offensive player and defensively no one was questioning Melo until Roberson went down and OKC's defense in general went into the toilet.
Unlike. Bring in another scrub? Noooo. If you dont want to sign Melo with such cheap price, you are a stupid fool. Thank goddess you are nor Morey.
Tillman is gonna want to show off his star lineup. CP3 Harden Melo* Tucker Capella Ego GG MCW Qi is gonna be our javale McGhee. We basically have a lineup that hangs, nay I say bests the Hampton 5.
The match up to watch: Melo vs Durant when it comes to self defense on twitter. These two are the best in the league at it.
There will be times that smaller players get switched on Melo. I don't mind him going iso in these situations.
this is true. guarding ariza was like taking a break for a possession. melo will at the very least force them to work on D, at the very best get them in foul trouble and off the floor. in limited minutes (24-30) melo makes us a more dangerous team. like harden, if he's too gassed to dominate on O, or participate at all on D, he's not even worth playing. keeping their legs fresh is the key.
Um, Melo isn't playing the 3 and Tucker is coming off the bench? Actually, he might get traded with Gordon for Butler, I stand corrected.
