a somewhat of an offshoot from a few recent posts in the Breaking Bad Thread - what are your favorite Western Films? For me... The Outlaw Josey Wales The Unforgiven The Magnificent 7 Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly and for comedic genius of Lee Marvin.. Cat Ballou Although I have to admit that I really just started watching Westerns a few years back and still have a lot I want to see.
That's a nice list, but it's not complete without Tombstone... and for comedic, "The Apple Dumpling Gang" Spoiler ....... ....... .......
lonesome dove. /thread. a more recent great one was 'open range' with kevin costner and robert duval. it had an unforgiven vibe to it and one of the most bad ass, best looking gunfights ive seen in a western. it took place in montana i think and the scenery is amazing. another good recent one was adapted from a cormac mccarthy novel called 'all the pretty horses'. directed by billy bob thornton with matt damon and penelope cruz. takes place in mexico and another with amazing scenery.
There is only ONE Western that you should watch, and I am really surprised you missed it, DFW (ah, that's why): Spoiler Tombstone (1993) "I'm your 'hucklebeary.' That's JUST my game."
jo mama stole my thunder. Wouldn't necessarily say it's the best, but Open Range is criminally underrated and unknown. Great freaking flick.
good list also would add: Red River Rio Lobo Open Range For a few Dollars more The Cowboys Fistful of Dollars
um..I was born and raised in Houston - I didn't move to Fort Worth until I was 26 that being said, I don't get to watch TV much, and therefore have not seen Tombstone since I was 20. If it comes on tv I'll DVR it.
I watch it during breaks at work ALL THE TIME , and I don't see why you couldn't: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/zCl0PTtmI_0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCl0PTtmI_0

I don't even like western movies but "Tombstone" was the ****. Val Kilmer was awesome and I'm not a fan of him either. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/R8OWNspU_yE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
