I'm with DD on this. I went to SpursTalk.com yesterday to gauge their reaction to the Ginobili news. It was like entering the Vegas Strip or Bourbon Street. F Bombs, pornish picture in sigs, garish huge emoticons, etc. I like this board a lot. It has its flaws, but it is an overall classy place to post.
The clean look is why I enjoy this site so much. I don't really care about the occasional vulgarities, but other boards that are overrun with obscene avatars, epic signatures, and just rampant usage of whatever visual mediums quickly grow old with me.
Reputation (http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=157442) I agree with DD cursing should not be tolerated. I also agree with ScriboErgoSum, I love the fact that this forum is clean, no Avatars or other stupid pictures. This site is just the best.
We also need a Clutchfans Lexicon: Hispanic? - over played joke A Ride Ride - you had to be there, Jessica Alba was. Rockhead Rule- Posting a pic for the story to be true. *Amended to the CF ladies. Macbeth- a classic tragedy. His return has been foretold. fomfotable- that feeling when it's summer time people supposed to get horny 99'ers- see Hispanic? Almu'd- I'll tell you later
if all you want to do is start thread after thread of stuff already being discussed or that has been discussed tons of times, then you are exactly why rookies cant start threads. There is very little news or discussion that doesnt get started by someone....spend your time in those threads showing that you can bring good discussion, then you might get to start some threads.
Perhaps its just me, but do we really need all the posts calling for banning someone? No doubt everytime someone posts a thread about an article or topic that has already been posted you see 3 or 4 posts before it gets locked requesting the poster be banned. Granted, said topic should be locked, but thats what the reporting feature is for, as well as mods using their own eyes and judgement. I dunno, I guess it seems really pointless since anyone calling for the ban has no actual power to implement a ban. I am also pretty sure that the mods arent going to actually ban someone because a poster said so. I also notice its not the heavy hitters that are calling for the bannings either. Might be another reason I think so poorly of it. The good posters dont resort to that kind of stuff.
No correct, the reporting feature is there to help the Crew find stuff they may otherwise not see...theres lots of posts and its tough to catch every bad one very pointless, if the person has done something that is truely ban-worthy, reporting the post does far more good than screaming "BAN HIM!!!11" in-thread. If they havent done anything ban-worthy, then nothing you say to them in-thread is going to cause the hammer to come down. not sure who exactly are the "heavy hitters"(I assume you are referring to the long-term members) but if so, you are correct....most of them know what the deal is....and they dont normally post just to see themselves post
Just post the link to the other thread, or let to OP know that it has been discussed elsewhere before if it was something old. I hate the IBTL people. Why do they have to post just to post?
i am a newb here, so please forgive my newbness. i just wanted to know what GARM means or stands for. i've seen it many times in posts. thanks
Question: Why can't I post threads? Answer: Posting threads on this forum is a privilege you must earn. After you "pay your dues" commenting on the threads of others, and proving you are mentally competent and articulate enough to contribute to this forum, you will most likely earn your member status. Q is : Pay how much of my dues??
Heh, that means you make posts in various threads, and give the admins a chance to see what you got. It's really pretty lenient, provided you make some sense when you make posts. I mean, heck they let DaDa get to member status.
