Championship match after period 2: Smeg: 247 + 231 = 478 (8/18 SP games used) Expos: 266 + 221 = 487 (8/18 SP games used)
congrats Fade, a well deserved and comprehensive victory to you, for once i think my management cost my team and my batters eventually could save themselves from their own injuries, thanks for a great season spoilt by a disappointing but yet predictable final.
Are you cracked? There's only a 25 point difference with a whole day yet to play. Scores going into the final day: Smeg: 247 + 231 + 219 + 138 = 835 Expos: 266 + 221 +245 + 128 = 860 It makes me nervous when people give up early before all the beans are counted. Moes did that in the most recent basketball championship, and then came back and kicked my ass.
The fat lady has sung and now it's official. Final championship scores: Smeg: 247 + 231 + 219 + 187 = 884 Expos: 266 + 221 + 245 + 205 = 937 Thanks to everyone for another successful season. Smeg, you deserved better after such a dominant year. I definitely got lucky, especially with my relievers, but that's the way the ball bounces sometimes. Putz and Storen especially have been amazing throughout the whole championship period. Hard to believe they were both waiver wire pickups. Ted Lilly and Matt Garza were also tremendous down the stretch. I went ahead and re-registered the site for next season. Hope to see you all again next year!
congrats again fade, your closers were a massive difference and added to me missing 2 of my top 3 batters, plus my worst two weeks of management.... well done again and thanks for running the league, hope to be back next year and happy to accept all realistic trade offers for my plethora of potential keepers
By the way, here is the keeper situation heading into 2012. The number after each player is the number of times that player has been kept. These numbers roll over once keeper declarations are finalized at the start of next year's draft, so the listed number by each player must be lower than the max number in each slot going into the draft. Those players on your roster not identified below have a keeper number of zero at this point. Waivers are now closed, but trading remains open if anyone wants to jockey for new keepers and/or draft picks next year. Just let me know if any draft picks are involved so I can make a note of it. Ryan Braun tests positive for performance enhancing drugs? Maybe my last two fantasy championships should be asterixed...
Fade, just giving you a long time to look for a new manager heads up. I'm no longer going to be in the league. Life got a lot busier and I've really started to lose interest in fantasy baseball/ baseball in general since the 'Stros suck. It was real!
