is being honest about it too much to ask? if the breech was unpreventable did he make any preparations to the disaster to follow?
How ANGRY does it make you liberals to realize that we have 3 more years of George W Bush? I'm pleased by it. hee hee
Li'l t really expects that anyone believes he is pleased with the unrelenting avalanche of Bush Administration f-ups, which shows no signs of slowing down over the next 3 years? That's almost as convincing as Bush's claim that no one anticipated the breeching of the levies.
Wow. I'm stunned. So certain and so wrong. Look, if the Bush Administration is going to intimidate Congress in order to accumulate power, change the rules and traditions of our government to give themselves more power, break the laws to acquire more power, and pull every little political stunt and lie to increase their power, then by God, they also get the responsibility. No backing out due to the "ignorance defense" or the "incompetent defense" or the "evil media defense" or "the locals didn't tell us defense" or the excuse of the day. With power comes responsibility and this is the most irresponsible administration in history.
It was unpredictable? Did you watch the tape? In that tape you have Browne predicting to Bush face to face that levies could be broken by Katrina. He predicted it right to the man's face before it happened. Bush then went out and lied about it, and let Brown take the fall. It is amazing that you can watch a tape of someone predicting the levies will break, and then say it is unpredictable. This isn't so much about what could have been done to stop them from breaking at this point. We know that the local authorities need to shoulder the majority of that blame. This is about Bush claiming that nobody had predicted anything like what would happen and the disaster. In fact the disaster was predicted, the trouble of getting supplies was predicted. The trouble with the Superdome was predicted. It was all predicted before the storm hit, and the person this nation looks to for leadership did nothing about it.
everyone, there is SOOOO much blame to go around with katrina it's not even funny, so just because bush said that they were ready don't blame the whole thing on him. you know that he asked the head of fema if they were ready and he probably said yes to him, and bush just reiterated it. the president isn't going to head over to the fema headquarters and evaluate their procedures and how they are going. he just ask the man he has in charge if they are prepared. alot of the blame is at the feet of the director of fema himself and the city government of new orleans. obviously fema was not ready for this and there was a HUGE breakdown in procedure and communication. it seemed like a group of monkeys escaped from the washington dc zoo and took over fema. it was a joke that it took them so long to get there and when they got there they didn't have a plan to get them out to a designated place of residency. they put them up in hotels and let the mobile homes they had set up in arkansas i believe just go to waste, when they were there for an event like this one. the city of new orleans has known their levees weren't up to par and had asked for and received funding to fix them. where is that money????? obviously missused. they also didn't have a solid procedure of what to do in case this happens. if you even suspect a hurricane of this magnitude, and they had for days, you have to have a plan to get citizens out as soon as possible. they didn't. don't just say the president lied. blame it all on him. take a look at the whole picture.
BTW on my scorecard, a blowjob counts!!! A well done BJ might even count a little more than intercourse Back to topic, all politicians lie. It is in their blood. Lying can not be an issue in and of itself. There is a giant chasm between what this WH says and what it does. It is like they use PR to cover for they are actually doing. Calling them on it now seems a little silly. The only sensable thing to do is to completely ignore what the WH says and watch closely to what they actually do. Like I posted in the last month or so: The WH's credibility is in its last throes.
No, it was predicted and that prediction was delivered to the President and the Director of Homeland Security at least a day in advance.
Wrong video. Sorry. Here: http://video.on.nytimes.com/ifr_mai...bd0788x109bc074c8fx6680&rdm=748953.4084447442
what? that's what this whole thread is about.. bush lied when he said it was unpredictable even thought someone already warned him about it.. then you ignored by saying it was unpreventable.. now you go back and say it was unpredictable?
From the article: "...but videos just released show George Bush being told exactly that, the day before the levees broke. Bush was in fact warned of just what could happen in New Orleans and told that it was very likely." COULD HAPPEN VERY LIKELY Describing a range of possible outcomes does not qualify as a prediction. Where is the certaintly that Bush is allegedly hiding from and/or covering up? What kind of idiot is under-prepared for an unprecedented disaster?
Very likely to happen is exactly what a prediction is. A meterologist predicts the upcoming weather. He says what is likely to happen. You have turned the dense knob all the way up, and you need to turn it back down. First, you said that it was unpredictable after there is a video of someone pridicting it, then you claim that 'predicting' is somehow significantly different than 'likely to happen'.
Here's the quote, giddyup: "No one could have predicted the levees would break." That is a lie. Even with all your usual cutesy equivocating, that is a lie. That statement was clearly intended to convince the American people the idea of the levees breaking was outside of the realm of imagination when Bush had been warned it was a very real possibility. Not only had he been warned, but when he was warned he said, no problem, it's under control. It wasn't. Then, after having been warned of that very real possibility, he hung out on vacation for a couple of days after Katrina hit. After that, he went to a fundraiser and played guitar (while NOLA was drowning). He acted like he didn't even know there was a problem until he saw it on TV. And after all that, he let the guy who warned him take the blame. So he is not only a liar -- though he is that -- he is also a sh*theel. Play your semantic (well, that word doesn't exactly mean that if you look at it, er, upside down, for example...) games all you want. He lied. That's a fact. He said it couldn't be predicted when it had been and when he had said in response to that prediction that it would all work out. And if that's not a clear enough lie for you, go to the Bush Lied, Part Two thread, where he blatantly lied several times in the run up to the war. The thing is, apparently you don't care if the president of the United States lies and people die as a result. You just don't care. To you it's more important to have been right for having supported him. That's pathetic.
