    I've never actually been to a casino, though I've always meant to, but stuff like this thread makes me hesitate.

    It seems to me you can't 'learn' these things by doing - like everything else in the world - because it will piss other people off in a casino.

    Welp, guess I'll have to read up or something before going...

    I hate people who hate people who hate to learn the rules of gambling. It's called gambling for a reason. Part of the reason betting is a gamble is not everyone at a public place is going to be as hardcore about learning each game as you are.

    The thing is you can learn the rules of the game in about 87 seconds if you're not functionally r****ded and increase your chances of winning.

    Just a tip for those annoyed with the pop-ups and the ads everywhere on the site( Hey, they have to pay for you're free bets somehow). Just get Firefox and the AdBlock Plus extension. No more pop-ups, no more ads.

    The immediate short term is always all that matters in the particular situation.

    Also, if someone plays blackjack in a dumb way, it is just so painful to be present at the table that it almost makes you feel ashamed for the dumb player.
