I'm meeting all my savings targets, and for the first time in my life really, I have some extra cash to spend on...something. Vacations are not an option because of work, and I want to buy something I enjoy.

If you had $500-$1000 to discretionary spend, what would you spend it on?

I would have said traveling, but you can't. What's your favorite hobby? I would spend it toward that.

If you have to ask, you are not ready to spend. Save it until you run into something that you GOTTA have.

I'd buy a new bed. One of the new-school waterbeds with multiple chambers of water inside of the mattress. My current bed is shot...

save it until you either need it or you have something you really want. It's not bad to have an emergency fund.

add to your savings is the best option until you NEED it. But if you really have to spend the money, a new PC, new TV, Smart Tablet, surround sound, new radio and speakers for your vehicle, new wardrobe, a really nice watch.

In a previous thread like this, the consensus opinion was to spend it on an experience than a cool toy that diminishes in enjoyment over time.

You get a better payoff with the memory and feel more rewarded for saving.
