ESPN to go 'Behind the Beard' with James Harden story tonight at 9

the irony , he was out of shape , he landed on the right team to keep him fits, lead league in minutes , duties ,points and fans want him to do more and become D specialist too

 

Nice feature. Harden is an introvert and is measured. Quite frankly, that's my personality too so I can see it. People can look at that as aloofness and be put off by it.

I have to say, I couldn't help think about the Harden+KD connection. Like, Harden talking to KD after the season and saying "Let's finish what we started and do it in Houston." "Lets you and me join forces to overcome SA/GSW etc. Lets do it together." (and with Al Horford )

 

I think his teeth had a lot to do with the development of his demeanor. He's grown up more comfortable speaking in sound bytes because the fewer words he used the less his mouth was exposed.

What bugged me more than anything is that I didn't hear one original thing in the piece, nothing from his heart that expressed any uniqueness of thought. He has a lot of growing up to do. He needs to listen to his critics instead of ignoring them. James Harden is going to have to go through a rock bottom travail in order to wise up to his responsibility. He's like the precocious kid that we are all helping to raise, we see his potential but he doesn't see what we see. We want him to lead but ultimately he's still comfortable following. James needs both a hard nosed coach and a mentor. I hope the Rocket's provide him with both next season.

Either way, I'm riding with James Harden.

I agree that Harden needs to take some criticism to heart. Talking about the "constructive criticism." Defense, leadership etc. He does need a strong coach and mentor. I think he will accept the coaching. Rockets need to provide that.

 

Seriously, Harden has never missed the playoffs and people wanna say he's not a winner...

Over half the teams in the league make the playoffs... and half of the ones that don't are tanking for the draft picks...

making the playoffs is no great accomplishment.. case in point this years #8 seed....

but yeh, he's a winner! ....smh.... people believe what they want to believe...
