Great move by the Bulls if finalized. Gasol is a very talented and gifted offensive player. East will be better with Bulls back in title contention.
Rose Snell, Dunleavy Butler, Gibson (Gasol), (Mirotic), Boozer Noah, Smith, Randolph Above is a fully guaranteed 70.3M payroll without including Gasol & Mirotic's salaries. Last season there was talk about the Bulls' moving Butler to SF which they claimed is his best/natural position. I didn't know the Bulls' have Greg Smith on a guaranteed contract for next season.
While the basketball fan in me would LOVE to see what Pops can do with Pau Gasol in the Spurs system, the realistic part of me KNOWS that the Spurs would be crushingly dominant favorites to get out of the West and win a chip if they managed to get a functioning Gasol in their hands. I think the entire NBA would sigh in relief if Gasol didn't go to the Spurs.
Just gonna say this right now...The Bulls are in great position to be able to acquire Kevin Love either before or during the course of the season.
Curious to see how much he gets. At least he's not on the Spurs or Thunder. I'm ok with him going to the Bulls. Maybe he can run the PG spot...
Between Noah and gasol, the bulls have two big men who can pass. That should make that offense that more dangerous.
Pau is a game changer wherever he goes even today. Shows how essential he was in those Lakers championships.

Assuming they amnesty or sign and trade Boozer, don't the Bulls already have Noah, Taj Gibson, and Nikola Mirotic? They sure like their big men instead of wing scorers.
