ESPN reported earlier that the Celtics are having discussions to trade the number 5 pick to Seattle for Ray Allen.

As much as I love Ray Allen, this trade makes no sense for the Celtics, but I guess thats why Danny Ainge might do it.

It sounds to me like Seattle just got over bigtime.

Wow Ray Allen would be the perfect fit for the Rockets too bad we can't afford him or even trade for him.

Danny Ainge is a moron if he does that. Ray Allen won't help the Celtics that much and will only help Seattle by getting another good young player.

I don't get how this is a bad trade...

...if it happens, don't you think Pierce might stay? Or at least be traded for another great player?

Ray Allen is better than anybody at 5 and makes them a better team now.

Although, Brewer might be worth a lot soon.

short term its definitely a good trade but i dont think it will get them anywhere deep in the playoffs. it might work out well if they trade ratliffs huge expiring contract for someone good...then i could understand the trade.

I like the trade. If they can trade for a veteran post or PG mid season they will make some noise in the east. Maybe Minnesota should have kept Garnett and traded for Allen.

good deal for both teams. seattle gets rid of the oldest sg/sf type they have with durant on board and boston needs veteran leadership and gets a very good player from a crapshoot draft spot.

allen-pierce-jefferson is a pretty solid core especially in the east.

didnt see that one coming- altho i guess durant will kind of be taking that role and what not, but still, jesus shuttleworth? I did not expect him to leave the sonics.

hold on...quick thought before the draft starts...

...maybe this means Durant goes 1st (although media says otherwise) and Seattle gets Oden/Conley to stay together????

Why would Sonics take Wally over Ratliff (contract differences). Why would Danny take an older jump shooter, as good as he is? (Oh, it's Danny Ain't...)

Why wouldn't Seattle wait until the 4th pick was selected?

    Done deal.

Celtics are morons who failed yet again.

2 SG/SF that play the same way.

    They suck. Period.
