[ESPN] Mike Leach suspended after player complaint

    Texas Tech has suspended coach Mike Leach from all duties, including coaching the Valero Alamo Bowl, after receiving a complaint from a player and his parents.

    "At Texas Tech, all such complaints are considered as serious matters, and as a result, an investigation of the incident is underway," the school said in a release. "The investigation into this matter will continue in a thorough and fair manner."

    Defensive coordinator Ruffin McNeill has been named interim head coach and will coach the team against Michigan State in the Alamo Bowl.

    The school received a complaint from the unnamed player and his parents regarding his treatment by Leach after an undisclosed injury.

    The school declined further comment because it was considered a personnel matter.

    LOL the only thing I like more than seeing bad things happen to OU is bad things happening to the Taco Raiders. Their cocky fans deserve some bad karma "thrown" back at them for a change.

    On another note, Taco Tech is somewhat decent at basketball again!

    Seems maybe Leach didnt like some of the preferential treatment Pony Boy gets, and maybe had it "out" for him a little.

    Not uncommon for some high school football programs to have a cant-miss no tolerance policy for opening 2-a-day practices. If a player missed or was late that they'd have the players run laps around the field, do tire drills, belly flops, something to make up for lost time. So they can go through the gruel like everyone else, bust butt like the other players are doing.

    The sitting in equipment bins thing is strange.
