Just in case anyone is on the fence about the morality of Rodman's actions, this is the government he is going to be working for: These are drawings done by a NK defector about life in the concentration camps. http://imgur.com/a/648Mv Warning: Graphic drawings; will probably ruin your day, at least.
These guys must all be broke and desperate. Is this not a violation of some rules? Doesn't North Korea have a similar status as Cuba with regards to the USA?
http://www.statesman.com/news/ap/in...nba-team-heads-to-north-korea-for-game/ncdBy/ PYONGYANG, North Korea — Dennis Rodman said Monday that a game he and other former National Basketball Association players are planning in North Korea will be a "birthday present" for one of their most unlikely fans: leader Kim Jong Un. Rodman's squad — featuring ex-All Stars Kenny Anderson, Cliff Robinson and Vin Baker — will play against a team of North Koreans on Wednesday, which is believed to be Kim's birthday. The former NBA players, who arrived in Pyongyang on Monday, also include Eric "Sleepy" Floyd, guard Doug Christie and Charles D. Smith, who played for the New York Knicks. Four streetballers are also on the squad.
meh it's just basketball, I don't see the big deal either way, it's a good gesture I guess to connect to that country by basketball.
If they win, they will be charged for trying to overthrow the government and be fed alive to 120 dogs.
I clicked the link expecting to see Scottie Pippen on there. Maybe MJ's lending him money so he doesn't have to stoop to working for North Korea. As for the legalities, you'd think what Rodman was doing would be illegal, but it's not. It's crazy because North Korea is 100 times the bad actor that Cuba is, but citizens are free to travel to North Korea and do business with them. Probably it's because the Kims have been using their nuclear program for leverage. We took them off the terrorist list in exchange for allowing nuclear inspectors a few years ago. It's probably moot for the most part because there can't be many Americans going there and doing business anyway. I can't really believe Rodman found a dozen former players willing to do this. A few years ago, North Korea managed to grab a couple of journalists and got a visit from an ex-President as a reward. Couldn't a dozen pro athletes make a pretty decent hostage package? How much might the US give to get them back? State department can't be happy.
I hope Bowl Cut Jr turns on these attention whores ex ballers and detains them for his pleasure. Did Rodman know that Bowl Cut Jr threw his uncle along with five other men all naked into a large pit and watched, as they were all devour within an hour by a pack of hungry dogs(120) that had been starved for 3 days?
This is just sad... http://gawker.com/watch-dennis-rodmans-bizarre-screaming-meltdown-on-c-1496173045?autoplay=1
Dennis got a bit too emotional but I agree with him. No one has ever gotten access like that and all of a sudden you want flush all of that good will for one person This is a cultural exchange building goodwill around basketball, don't get political and ruin it all. Eventually that time will come.
Those two female journalists didn't have permission to set foot on NK soil. Maybe those ballers got that done before they embarked.
CNN posted link: Spoiler <iframe width="416" height="234" src="http://www.cnn.com/video/api/embed.html#/video/world/2014/01/07/newday-cuomo-dennis-rodman-kenneth-bae-cutdown.cnn" frameborder="0"></iframe> Seriously could not follow Dennis' reaction. All that being said, Cuomo is a total d-bag for bring up politics when other guys just went there to play ball. I really think the extent of Rodman's trip was to facilitate communication in NKorea and the rest of the world through the game of bball. Finally, Rodman has never been someone that is "quite there". He was extremely intelligent on the basketball court, but he is a loose cannon when it comes to life in general. Rodman's fiery response is only gonna make Kim Jung trust Rodman more. All this being said, Kim and Rodman are made for each other.

Rodman definitely got overemotional, but if you've watched any of the Vice documentaries on North Korea, you wouldn't be surprise that he is taking such a pro-NK stance while IN PYONGYANG. I wouldn't want to get killed either. BTW, did anyone else get a WWE vibe from this interview? lol
