He called the N.O.W. (National Organization of Women) a "bunch of lesbians".

Bob was not exactly what you would call a "progressive thinker".

BTW, ....they are condensing this game into a 2 hour slot. What a shame..................:(

    Madmax,

Do you remember the game the next day????

    Eric "Cool Breeze" Yelding! Awesome.

And Jim Clancy on the mound, the guy signed to "replace" Nolan Ryan. Jim Clancy, the most evil, untalented piece of garbage pitcher ever to wear the rainbow stripes. I still remember Clancy fielding a routine grounder back to the mound, turning to first, and throwing the ball into the ****ing stands.

I also remember Milo Hamilton nearly blowing a gasket when the pitching coach went out to talk to Clancy after one of his typical walk-single-walk-double outings-- "Needs to go out there and talk to him LIKE A DUTCH UNCLE!!!!!" thundered Milo.

I believe it was 13 actually. And if I remember correctly, we won it when Mike Scott hit a sacrafice fly. :)

    Yeah.

I forgot how we won it though. All i remember is, they had Fernando Valenzuela playing 1st base and a position player on the mound.

Im anxious to relive this game once again.

    What an awesome game.

Totally forgot about having those two runners thrown out to end it.

Is anyone else kind of irritated trying to watching this without that lil thing in the upper left hand corner that keeps track of the score, inning, etc.??

Heh. So it was Rafael Ramirez driving in Doran from 2nd to win it. LOVED Raffy Ramirez. Fernando Valenzuela jumped up and almost caught that line drive!!

I remember how good Scoscia was at blocking the plate back then. I thought Doran was a dead duck.

I almost felt sorry for Jeff Hamilton after seeing that pained look on his face.

    Good times. :)

This was actually a 22 inning game, not 20, and the game the next day went 13 innings.

I was at that game! No really, I was!! I remember it like it was yesterday. About 1pm that day we we're dropped off at Astroworld and went to the game at about 8-8:30pm (this is about the time they would let you walk into the stadium without a ticket). My dad was supposed to pick us up at 10pm, but he knew we were at the game, so he listened to the game in the car for the next 3 hours and waited for us.

The game definetly was 22 inning and I remember Hershiser pitched a bunch of shutout innings. I definetly remember Fernando playing first base and some infielder was pitching when Astros won the game. That was fun. I wish I knew it was on Classics.

From New York, I watched the ticker on CNN all night for the score updates. The only ticker in service at the time. It was kinda boring doing that. But I had to know if we won.
