Shortly after I had my auto accident, I found out that the school I was working for had cut my position due to budget. I was on a transitional license and was unable to find another teaching job. Currently, I am teaching 3 math classes as an adjunct at a local community college.

I cannot do this for the rest of my life; I am okay for the rest of 2012 but by January, I am going to have to find a full-time job, even if that means leaving the state of Tennessee. I have over 10 years experience working in the defense contracting industry with 8 years in pricing/cost estimating and a little over 2 years in human resources. There is a chance that I could get hired at my old company but I won't know for sure until about a month from now.

So, does anyone have good leads or tips about places hiring in Houston or around Houston for someone with a defense contracting background, specifically in pricing and HR? Thanks.

Do you have clearance? If you do, why don't you look into going up to the DC area.

Sorry, I'm too far away to help, but I'm sincerely wishing you all the best and I hope that you will find something that you like.

My memory might be wrong, but wasn't dandorotik a recruiter or something like that? Maybe he has some good leads or advice?

If you want to stay in TN you might want to check out Unum.com. We have a lot of open positions right now.

Sorry to hear that Manny. I can't help you with the Houston area but wish you the best. You've had a pretty rough last two years so I hope things work out better for you.
