voted at 7am eastern time in the battleground state of Pennsylvania.

It was by far the biggest line I have ever seen (and I've been voting since the 80's). I waited in line 45 minutes. I can't imagine what it will look like after work!!!

It is great to see so many people participating in the democratic process.

At this point I dont really care who wins as long as whoever is sitting in the Oval Office will do something positive for America over the next 4 years.

how long does it take to vote?

my voting place is precinct 496.

i have to work at 11am, and i am getting ready to go in ten minutes. I hope it takes less than 30.

How was the line to vote?

I hope they dont turn me away because of my skin color.

that last line was a joke.

In my town, half the races have the candidates running unopposed... again. Maybe I should run for sheriff or county commissioner next time.

I got to the poll at 6:15 (opens at 6:30). Was about 60-70th in line. Doors opened at 6:30 but noone could get into the votign room until 6:38.
From there it sucked. How can peopel show up to vote that don't know the issues? Ohio set up a 5 minute limit to vote (meaning once you got inside you have 5 minutes to vote). People couldn't make up their minds. I don't think it was the President part but all teh jodges, smoking ban, same sex marriage, city bonds, school levy, and all the judges.
I finally got through at 7:30 and there was at least 200 people in line. Noone challenged any voters when I was there but as I walked out there was the NAACP handing out propoganda right outside the school (legally they have to be 100-150 feet away from teh property). A guy was there on his cell phone (while another guy videotaped it) and was trying to get through the the board of elections. I was already late so i don't know if anything will come of it or not.

At 740 this morning I was the first person to vote in prec. 225.

I was in and out in 10 mins. Hardly a line at all.

I was undecided until the moment I saw the canidates names on the ballot. I struggled with the decision but it was easy in the end.

I will probably one of the last people on the bbs to cast my vote. I will be voting after work in California.

If anyone has any early returns or predictions to post I will look forward to reading them as the day goes on.

I have never seen as many African Americans voting as I have today. There has never been a push like this.

That's great. Maybe the African American entertainment sector really did do good in their effort to get the voter turnout up. Has anybody seen a substantial amount of young voters anywhere?

Of course with African American voters it will be much higher than in the 50's when, for the most part African Americans couldn't vote.

Here in Albq, I've never seen so many young people (18-20's) at the polls, ringing doorbells, carrying signs, volunteering etc. It's great to see. Anybody have any celebreties going door to door locally? Sean Penn showed up at my co-worker's door this morning! And Leo Dicaprio is in town as well.

Tonight will change things. There's no doubt about that. On the site, maybe. In the country and the world, definitely -- no matter who wins. Given that the race is completely impossible to predict, by every known measurement standard, I wouldn't say people are especially guarded. Well, except maybe you. Haven't heard that 'life support' stuff in a dog's age.

texxx: Not especially exclusive and certainly not daring. Most of the Bush camp has been making that prediction for a while now.
