OK- I really had not kept up with his play- I recalled him being a pretty good shooter when he played for us. I stand corrected.

I realize this is probably not worthwhile.

He was a GREAT shooter when played for us. Now MAKING the shots? ...not so good.

If I remember correctly (or IIRC, as the kids say), he shot a 3 every time he touched the ball. He would manage to make about 1 out of every 5 of those shots, so for some reason everyone assumed he was a good 3 point maker. I never understood it.

And I think a lot of you are missing the point. A lot of you are saying that if he could straighten up his off-the-court problems, he could end up being a pretty good player. The problem is...there is no evidence to back this up...because he has NEVER been anything more than a on-again off-again shot blocker. Kind of like another guy that used to play here...

My head is woozy from trying to keep up with DaDa trying to spin his earlier comments in order to save face.

Eddie Griffin is done. He doesn't belong in the league. If the Rox sign him I would seriously consider not watching any more games because it would show that management has lost all sense.

    I ain't spinning crap, I didn't explain myself clearly.

I am always in favor of taking a low risk look at players in the hopes that one day it may pan out.

Same thing if Francis gets released.....take a vet minimum risk? SHOOT YA !

    Low risk.....low risk.....

Stromile didn't work out. Langhi was a 2nd round draft pick, the definition of low risk, and he too did not pan out.

But no harm done on Langhi.

Low risk is fine as long as there is a chance that it could pay off.

With EG, there is NO CHANCE that it could pay off because he has never been anything more than a below average basketball player.

Why don't we sign that fat guy in the 13th row who was at the game last night? Sure, he's never played basketball in his life and he's 57 years old, but we can give him the league minimum. Low risk, right?

    Ima,

That is stretching it a bit on the fat guy comparison.

EG is still young, was thought highly enough to give up 3 first round picks for....and sometimes it takes guys a while to mature.

I do agree, I think EG is toast, but why not at least have a discussion about him in the summer?

Not only that, but the Rockets don't have roster space so it isin't really low risk; we have to give up someone. I'm looking down the list and everyone on this Rockets team has more potential then EG. Even Deke. Which really kinda says something.

Oops, forgot about Sura. But, yes, because his salary is a trade asset and has greater potential in doing that then EG will as a player with the Houston Rockets. I guarantee that.

    Here is how you recover:

    1. Yao Ming - 1st round pick.
