Lol was it just me or did it seem like Booker was begging to get expelled from the senate? He brought up himself 'knowingly' breaking the rules about 5x. Bad thing is, I think he could win a primary and I'm not so sure he has a chance at beating Trump. I think you need someone that is going to hammer away at a single issue.

Lots of good takes. In general I'd like a more moderate as presidential candidate (Bullock, Hickenlooper, Landrieu types) and a governor or mayor that has administration type experience. Then I'd like a more liberal as VP choice (Harris and Warren) and a senator or congressman as they would be able to work with Congress better. And I'd like someone with a bit of bite in their style/personality so that when necessary they can play "bad cop" politically.

I agree with your assessment of Booker though I am curious which single issue you think is the winning one?

When your 2016 nomination can't even crack the top 15 for potential 2020 candidates. That ranks up there with the McCain/Palin nomination.
I wonder if Harris will take a VP position, she's young enough that she may see it as too much of a risk and I have a feeling she's going to be eying that executive position for the rest of her career and VP is a double edged sword since you will always be tied to the president for better or worse. But yeah, I agree. I think a more moderate would help while a more progressive VP like Harris or Warren would be a really good ticket to run on. Especially since both Harris and Warren have that bite you'd want. I'm not sure, a lot can change. Immigration, Healthcare, the Economy, or SCOTUS could all be big issues. I'm just saying that the candidate needs to run on something other than "I'm not Trump, do you want 4 more years of Trump?" they need to promise something tangible.
Don't know if your point has much relevance. If you are referring to Hillary Clinton, she lost the 2008 primary and the 2016 general election. She is also 70 years old. I voted for her in 2016 and would NOT consider her as a candidate this year... note: I edited to correct it... I would NOT consider her.
Sanders is 76 and he is on all of the lists. What does her age have to do with it? Im not surprised you would consider her a candidate.
Heck... one important issue I'd like Democrats to run on is a return to basic human and American values. Then policy positions like immigration, health care, education, and others can be connected up to the main theme.
My take Good Retail Politician Kirsten Gillibrand Heidi Heitkamp Eric Garcetti Mitch Landrieu Oprah Winfrey Easy Sell to Middle America Heidi Heitkamp Mitch Landrieu Jon Tester Oprah Winfrey Good Business(wo)man Michael Bloomberg Mark Cuban Oprah Winfrey For reference, Hillary Clinton would make none of the above categories 4 years ago.
Sorry, I don't consider Sanders either. And as much as I like Joe Biden, he wouldn't be on my list either. And I meant to say I would NOT consider her a candidate in 2020. To answer the question... I view age and health important for the person we are entrusting the presidency. I'd also like someone new...
ive always wondered that too. they have been doing it for a while now and it always catches my attention. im not a democrat and even if i was i wouldnt be offended by it, but it just seems weird. i think it started with rush limbaugh - that fat, viagra-popping drug addict is the first one i heard repeatedly calling it "the democrat party". i dont really care for any of the options out there right now, but trump and the republicans have forced me to chose sides and ill be voting straight ticket democrat until the GOP is destroyed.
An 80 year old should not be in the White House. So Absolutely not on Bernie and Biden. That's pretty much the point I'm at. As somebody who has voted plenty for both parties in the past, the republicans have gone way off the reservation supporting the Trump administration. Every republican in the country is unsupportable right now.
