i forgot about his pregame quote last night about tony parker: "like a fine wine, he's aging gracefully".
He may sound crazy at times but he kind of brings a entertaining happy go lucky vibe to the telecast.
lol he didnt make that up....I remember hearing that at a Fonde summer league game about ten years ago
"Somebody must have pissed him off!" Not exactly a Drexlerism since he only said it once but it did crack me up.
That one was killing me the last couple of games he called...I think he said it twice in each home game.
I think there's a long piece of string attached to a plastic ring embedded into Clyde Drexler's back. A couple of interns have to sit behind him during telecasts and yank it every time it's Clyde's turn to talk. Whatever comes out comes out... over and over and over.
That's the kind of stuff that is so ridiculous it will eventually endear Rocket fans to him. I HAD CHINESE FOOD LAST NIGHT !
After the Bob Sura interview during the Portland game, Clyde says: I hope he returns to the Rockets soon... BW: "He's having another back surgery, he's done, retired." but, I really like Clyde.
A lot of you guys are too hard on Clyde. He may seem a little out of touch with reality, but he's absolutely endearing in a Ned Flanders type of way.
"...AND THATS what is called ___ {insert basketball cliche}!!" or the similar "And THAT is what I call _____ !!"
"hey, that reminds me of someone i used to know!" actually, Clyde never said that, but it would be funnier if he did instead of Bill. and better still if he said it in the third person.
