At that point you have to look at the tax cost for taking on a dead asset. Sadly we could have had KLove and RoCo but we have no interest in taking on more money. That has been made perfectly clear. How many teams 2 years in a row come within one game of winning it all but had mgmt that didn’t provide every possible asset? We have stupid mgmt. Other teams find ways to get things done and you know they will and we don’t and we know beforehand. If this team has 2 titles now what do you think it would be worth? Shortsighted fools. No one ever complains that they paid too much for a winner. They expect it. Losers always lament they didn’t do enough.

I know. Just saying you can’t claim we could have had Roco or Klove. No one on here knows what the front office is thinking.

I think it goes without stating that every post comes with the caveat “I think” or “in my opinion”. You do this all the time too. I like you but in hindsight I think even you can realize it was a bit unfair to go there. My larger point was about not spending money and being at the tax from many other posts. That didn’t come from me that came from Bima and the real insiders. My positions have been consistent. I recognize that we all speculate about the FO. You do too. I am basing mine off of evidence just like you.

K fair. Just think this site is going a little too far with the whole “we care more about saving money than winning”. You may not fall into that category but didn’t pay attention to your previous posts so my bad.

I just made a post in another thread regarding Butler. Wouldn’t we have been a definite tax paying team if we got him this summer?

We would have been hard capped so very light tax. There was never any question TF would go that far. He tried last year but he clearly stated he was willing to do that for a star. There has been pretty consistent reporting from many sources that he definitely looks at the tax that way. I can understand understand the concerns about paying about $52M for Iggy’s contract. Bima ran the numbers on that with some other additions.
