We already have regular yearly celebration of the Bastille day here in the states. We also have a similar nation day celebration - July 4th. The only other times we have a military parade is to celebrate an end of a war. What Trump wants is to show off HIS military in a much bigger and more powerful way then any nation in the world. That's why Vet barked at this. We know what he wants. The I-m-not-a-Trump fan, but yet a Trump-blind-follower folks are incredibly so predictable.
If Clinton suggested a parade with rolling tanks on public streets that celebrated no significant accomplishment, yes it would be laughed at at some sort of distraction for something else . The thing is Hillary wouldn't be so blatant. So it's a silly hypothetical the first place. It's why she is more qualified. Because she has basic levels of common sense and self awareness to not put herself in such a stupid position of requesting a rolling tanks military parade for her in DC. She would already understand the perception that would generate( wanna be authoritarian).
But attaching an opinion to a person you are debating aka beating a strawman is going to effectively sway the individual you are debating with.
Nice try thinking that the media response Trump gets would be the same for HRC...The MSM is like a cat chasing a laser pointer. This backlash is yet another response of how much media and far left hates Trump----(omgherd...Trump is a dictator...look he suggested a military parade and it is gonna be like what NK does...bc he is 'compensating'...look how weak he appears...omgherd...so much cost...omgherd...) You are right...silly hypothetical to think HRC would ever honor the troops...she would just rather pocket the money herself.
Pandering to Troops is easy. Hillary had done it plenty of times. You are naive to believe that Hillary doesn't have the political self-awareness to suck the dicks of servicemembers .
I can point to times when HRC has honored the troops. Can you point to times when she's pocketed the money?
A. No one is glorifying Kim Jung Un's sister - they are pointing how how she is outmanoeuvring Trump and Pence. B. Clinton and Obama would never propose they have a parade - your right-wingers would go nuts C. Macy's parade is paid for by a corporation, not taxpayers. D. Bastille Day parade isn't meant to celebrate their leader but is a cultural independence parade We have Veteran's Day for parades to honor the military. We don't need a parade to honor Trump.
She certainly "honored the troops" when she lost the election. Probably the single act that she could do that would garner her the most praise among that group.
Yeah, jokes aside: if he works for the VA, good for him, and it would explain his anger and frustration, however misplaced. I've spent some hours volunteering at an east TX VA, and it was both inspiring and really sobering. But anyway, generalissimo bone spurs having a parade to saber rattle and boost his own image will do nothing for vets. I would back a parade for VETS actually, and would encourage my dad to join it. What Two Scoops needs to do for active duty soldiers: get us the **** out of Afghanistan and rebuild the state department. Pretty simple.
Bingo. A Memorial Day Parade that focused on the troops and not....oh hell, who am I kidding. I have zero faith in this Administration to not do anything self-aggrandizing.
Commander in Chief Bonespurs still avoiding the military front... if he can't take the time from his busy golf and twitter days to visit those that defend America, he wants a parade to bring the military to him? War zones still waiting for a visit from Trump Trump's absence more than a year into this presidency stands in contrast to his immediate predecessor. https://www.politico.com/story/2018/03/06/trump-war-zones-afghanistan-iraq-390234
So . . . it seems like this is going to happen https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo...rumps-military-parade-is-set-for-veterans-day Trump's Military Parade Is Set For Veterans Day The Pentagon says a military parade requested by President Trump will take place in Washington on Veterans Day to honor those who have served in the military from the Revolutionary War through today. The document addressed to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff provides "initial guidance," including assurances that the display will not include tanks, to minimize damage to the city streets. The D.C. City Council had already tweeted its objections ("Tanks but No Tanks"). The memo does not estimate the cost, but as NPR has reported, estimates have suggested it would be between $3 million and $50 million. Tamara Keith and Tom Bowman reported that holding it on Veterans Day, which also commemorates the end of World War I, could reduce complaints: "By potentially tying the parade to the 100th anniversary of the end of the 'War To End All Wars,' there may be an effort to associate with the tradition of celebrating war victories and avoid associations with countries like North Korea, China and Russia, which regularly hold military parades, in part for the propaganda value. "Members of Congress from both parties have been critical of the idea of a military parade, questioning its cost and necessity." The memo says the parade will begin at the White House and proceed to the U.S. Capitol, with a "heavy air component at the end." It notes that Trump will be surrounded by military heroes in the reviewing area at the Capitol. So Who is in support of this? Rocket River SOUND OFF!!
Hmm... I guess we now know why trump negotiated away the war exercises to NK... Trump's military parade expected to cost nearly as much as 'tremendously expensive' canceled war games https://www.cnn.com/2018/07/18/poli...ex.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
