If we do not successfully become the dumping ground for another sulking Orlando star and are also unsuccessful at dumping DD's golden boy, do we amnesty him?
Idk ..... I know he is a big time scorer that fades in the 4th quarter but he just does not work well within the team if his shot is off...... and his shot has been off more often than not
At very least he's a valuable expiring contract at next year's deadline, if we don't move him tomorrow. He could probably bring back a mid 1st rounder next season.
No way. He's going to be in the last year of his deal next year. I guarantee you he will have a great year next year. If not he will still be tradeable. I think the Rockets would like to save the Amnesty clause as Scola insurance in case of major decline in the last two years of his deal. That is if he doesn't get traded.
he was acquired to fit with yao, for his outside shot, ability to draw the foul and knowledge of adelmans system. Adelman's system is gone. so is Yao NBA changed the rules so he no longer gets to the line at will His salary is too large and i'd rather see courtney lee play and stay. I'd waive him
no way. I would rather trade him and get a pick than waste an amnesty on him. He's having a down season but he still has value to teams around the league.
Its a good thing your not the GM then. That might be the dumbest thing Ive read on the BBS here today. Yes Kevin Martin is having a bad year, but paying someone 12 million dollars and then cutting him when he was good trade value, healthy, still young, still a great shooter, and in the last year of his contract would be the dumbest move in the history of NBA general management.
He has trade value though and his contract isn't too bad. SG are rare in the league, we can get some pieces out of him.
Someone will want him and getting anything back in return has to be better than swallowing $12 mill and getting nothing.
