So more shows to keep me from canceling my Disney+ subscription. Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen.

I'm all over the Ahsoka and Obi Wan series.

    Somewhat indifferent to the rest.

Haha, you could always get it via alternative means. But I get ya, it's going to be hard to cancel now. Although, at least with mine I've got that bundle that includes ESPN and Hulu +, so the $12.99 or whatever's worth it. Aside from Star Wars, I don't watch a ton of Disney stuff, but they've got me for now lol.

While looking for budgets on certain shows (15-25 million per ep), I read how they're losing 5 billion a year on streaming. ESPN+ and Hulu are also money pits.

They lost 150 million a year check from Netflix but despite all that Stock Market likey

It’s almost like I hate Star Wars now.

    except the Mandalorian isn’t bad.

Why do you hate Star Wars? The spin off shows don't interest you much outside of The Mandalorian?

I can't blame him. The sequel trilogy made me ambivalent at best. It was like a crappy Star Trek spinoff.

But the Mandalorian has won me back in spades. As long as they're pumping out that quality of entertainment, I'll watch every one.

It'll be interesting to see how sci-fi space cops get fleshed out in Rangers (throw the $$$ at Timothy Olyphant to keep him around please). We haven't seen that side of Star Wars much. Lots of bounty hunters, frontier planets, shootouts, and more spaghetti Western music. I'm in.

So apparently George Lucas, Dave Filoni, and Jon Favreau have been given free reign to try to salvage the Star Wars franchise and retcon as much as they possibly can from the sequels short of rebooting them. Kathleen Kennedy, while the executive "face" of the franchise, has been apparently sidelined from any creative decisions and is being shuffled off.

(Kathleen Kennedy apparently doomed herself with Rise of Skywalker, originally shot as basically a Ben Solo driven narrative, KK forced Mary Sue Jedi down everybody's throats and basically forced a giant reshoot of the last 45 minutes of the film. Adam Driver was far and away the best actor in the series, and the original script had 30 more minutes of screen time for Kylo Ren/Ben Solo than the final edition did. The forced romantic undertones were also shoe horned in at the last minute by studio execs. Allegedly, in the original shoot, it most likely would have ben Ben Solo who would have survived to become the last Skywalker, but Kennedy didn't wan another "white male hero" to be the savior. Another thing that perhaps wrecked the narrative was the untimely death of Carrie Fisher. Early scripts may have had a large "show down" between her and her son, but not in a light sabery way, more of a son reconnecting with his mother in an emotional and difficult scene. It would have played off that Leia was in fact a hero of the Galaxy, but perhaps not the best Mother, ignoring her son for the sake of the galaxy)

All these different stories will have their own narrative, while slowly chipping away at the terribleness of the sequels. If those three are truly in charge, everybody should keep their fingers crossed that this next phase of Star Wars may be amazing.

What a hot ****ing mess. This is what happens when SJW takes over a franchise.
