I have searched google for an hour on this problem and I can't seem to find a solution.

I have a tenkeyless keyboard (no numpad), my cat was laying to the right of my keyboard and he stretched his paws and somehow hit some keys that dimmed the brightness of both my monitors.

This is not a monitor problem, since both monitors are now dim. I have checked each monitor's brightness, both are at 100%. When my cat did what he did, I saw a circular symbol that read: dim or dimming, to the top right of my primary monitor.

It has to be Pg Up, Pg Down, Pause, Scroll Lock, Print Screen, Home, End, Insert, Delete ... some combination of these keys did this...

Google doesn't have the answer!!! Help!?

It may be time to get rid of your cat.

Might be something built into your keyboard. I don't think there is a default keyboard shortcut for that. On a laptop it would be something like Fn+F6 or something. Hit the Fn key and click around.

Are the monitor cables plugged in securely in the back of your computer?

I found it, I use a program called f.lux that changes the 'temperature' of my monitors, and there are shortcuts in the program to dim/brighten

alt + pgup, alt + pgdwn
