I was reading another thread and I couldnt believe that some people actually think that David Robinson is even close to Hakeem Olajuwon in any way . So who is better (offensively and defensively), David Robinson or Hakeem Olajuwon ? Thanks.
The only thing Robinson has on Hakeem is his crazy going-down set jumper. That's IT. Hakeem kills Robinson in every other way.
Hakeem - better in the post, better footwork, better J, better FTs (slightly) David - ran the floor well, good J as well, i thought David was a better shotblocker than people thought him to be...right up there with Dream...but Dream was still a tad better. 2 centers that u can't go wrong with.
Is this a trick question or something? I refuse to compare the greatest center of all time to the Little Mermaid.
Hakeem vs. Shaq is an interesting discussion. Robinson wasn't in Hakeem's class ever. "Robinson vs. Patrick Ewing" should be the debate. Same tier, a tier lower than Dream.
Dream is way ahead of Robinson. In the 95 Western Conference Finals, Dream made Robinson look stupid. He killed him with the Dream shake. Robinson is one of the greatest center ever, but Dream is way ahead of him. Dream vs Shaq. I'd have to give the edge to Shaq. He is just so dominant.
Shaq has the edge and is dominant only because of his size. If he had Dream's size, he just couldn't do the things that he does. In terms of dominance, Shaq wins, but in a matchup of talent and skill, Dream wins by a landslide.
David Robinson's only edge on Dream is that he is a few inches taller. Other than that, Robinson is, and forever will be, Hakeem's b****.
Dream had Lil' Merm finished each game even before it started. Like JamesC said, '95 WCF's, folks. '95 WCF's. Merm was popping up so much all Dream had to do was bob his head and he'd fall for it. They not in the same class. Not in the same universe. Now...as far as personalities go, I pick Merm. I bet he never popped a teammate in practice.
ok, thank you ! I was just making sure that others also thought that Robinson is nowhere near Hakeem both defensively and offensively. I thought I was just being "biased" or something.
