    I think his stock is high at the moment, which could result in him getting overpaid (MLE).

    when your bidding for a player always come up front with your highest bid. otherwise you run the risk of over bidding if you get in a bidding war.

    take gortad yaos gonna miss some time and we were so competitive without him.

    his stock is high but midlevel is not overpaying considering with other mediocre centers have recieved in the past

    I like the move. He's definitely worth the "risk" of the MLE.

    I have no proof of this, but i think that is inaccurate. I heard the rockets are offering Gortat less than the full MLE, but that his agent is saying he has full MLE offers elsewhere and even a higher-than-MLE offer on the table from one team (also not the rockets).

    I'm going to keep saying it. He is a work horse that will be solid and consistent. He will be a 10/10 guy if you give him 30 minutes a night.

    nice....but the media is reporting we only want him because Yao went down, i think we may have pursued him either way and just as strong, hopefully he knows this and doesn't think he's a last second target for us..

    Offering Gortat the full MLE would also mean the Rockets cannot offer Taylor and Budinger contracts longer than 2 years or more than the min. As Taylor was a high 2nd round pick that could be problematic during contract discussions... Also they spent around $4M just for the their rights. I'm sure they'd want more value than just 2 years if they prove to be any good.
