1-8 2-18 3-14 6-14 2-16 He’s not only shooting 20% from three ... and nonetheless taking 14 per game.
He don’t got his legs he a volume shooter. He need to be in the gym like Kobe after the game and work on his damn shot
He had the highest shooting average because he took more shots than anyone in the league. If House or Tucker had taken 14 3's tonight we might have won. I get tired of James taking all the 3's every game. He is much more fun to watch driving to the rim.
The fact that it has continued for 5 games already proves the OPs point. Harden used to have a lot more versatility in his game such that if he was off, he’d try other things. And that’s the point. It’s not just that he’s shooting 20%... it’s the volume as well. And the volume absolutely will continue. He shot 13 a game last year. No way that’s going down. They’re stuck in the advanced analytics of offensive efficiency. And why not they say to themselves? It does actually work... in the regular season.
What's makes this even worse, is his slashing ability is better than ever this year. That's why he's getting so a many FTs. And yet he's STILL chucking at insane levels. Doesn't make sense.
Absolutely.... but they are not completely independent of each other. Missed threes lead to fast breaks for the other team. Harden missing shots leads to him sulking if sorts and playing worse defense while simultaneously pointing at others for defensive lapses... all while they’re like “wtf... you just bricked your 12th three in a row” in the back of their head. It’s not good for chemistry.
He has to trust the freaking math. No matter the score, no matter how much time is left on the clock, regardless of whether or not his shot is on. If the math says to chuck then he has to chuck. I don't think James is broken but i understand and share in some of the frustration. It's just ugly to watch at times.
Harden will be fine. His shot is the last thing anyone should be worried about. Who cares about him not having step back mid range, its fine. The only thing we should be worried about is the "forcing him right" scheme. He averaged 35 a game on 60% TS against the Warriors last year, he'll be okay.
Yeah people need to chill. Who cares about the loss. We had a chance to win despite Harden shooting the ball like ass. If he even shot around 42 percent Rockets win easy. It was a highly entertaining game. I also thought we played good d down the stretch.
He can be better though. No one can stop him off the dribble. Be DOMINANT...don't just be good. And that doesn't mean he has to drive all the way every time. Get by your intial man and just pull the simple mid-range jumper. He'll hit those at a much higher percentage than 15 step-back 3s. I saw Kawhi literally shoot 25+ mid-range attempts and scored 38 points on just under 50 percent. Don't eliminate a simpler shot that you can make...it's just stupid.
The mid range jumper isnt an efficient shot for Harden, maybe he should go to it sometimes in the 4th but by no means should he be changing much. He'll be fine, he'll return to form in no time at all.
