I think this is false. Every time Harden has a big night, the pundits dunk on it saying it because of the system. They make sure they mention Dantoni.

Curry has nothing to do with anything Harden is doing. Morey has been trying to wipe away mid range shots since birth. Harden just took the advice and started launching from 3 because the GM and Coach are fine with it and encourage it.

The only thing MDA did was take the reigns off of Harden and realize he's a generational player. OKC never gave him the freedom or they would never traded him. McHale never did because he was a clown.

Anyone else think Popovich would have screwed up both MJ and Harden?

Harden was considered a ball dominant shooting guard who'd rather get along with a defensive guard who couldn't shoot in PBev.

Credit to MDA for letting him run the offense, unlock even more assists and open shooters.

I still remember the analysts laughing at the decision because he was a selfish scorer who couldn't play well with other guards and playing the point was a different and higher IQ role.

THE defense didn't crater to the bottom BSPN

Welp... i guess if MDA deserves credit for getting out of the way and letting Harden carry the load... more power to him i guess...

I will admit that many coaches wouldnt allow their star player to stay is games that are already a forgone conclusion... or let their franchise player continue to push themselves while nursing injuries wo a thought to the upcoming post season....

so.... i guess MDA has been an enabler of Hardens stats....

    so there's that i guess...

    ;) lol

i could see neither reaching the level they have/did under Pops... He runs a balanced attack and demands production from everybody - not an inordinate amount from 1 or 2... whereas MDA ie will run the stars into the ground while letting other languish on the bench with zero return...

Honestly, I prefer the Pops methodology... I think it allows for more opportunity for success if you dont have a generational talent or if the other team chooses to key on that 1 guy...

if MDA can pull it together for a successful post season run then I will have to re-evaluate my view...

Agreed completely. I’m only hesitant to give MDA credit because it’s an opening for the morons to say that Harden does this because of the MDA “system”.

I'd give more credit to Morey's brain than MDA's brain. MDA is only coaching here because Morey happens to agree with parts of his philosophy (not all obviously, 7 seconds or less offense is dead).
