Get this....I come home from work and power up my stupid ass computer. What does it do? It boots up and everything seems fine at first. No....but wait....then it won't recognize my cd burner or my dvd rom drive. Also, the hard drive light will not turn off like it is reading or writing to my hard drive. So, I'm like....GREAT!!!! #*%*!!!! I keep trying to reboot...same problem over and over. I reboot in safe mode. Same problem. Everything else seems to work fine. Then, on boot-up...my bios starts asking me to hit PF4 to skip detection of my secondary slave drives or something. So, I hit PF4 and boot up. I'm initially thinking virus but no....it can't be. After all this, my hard drive light is still on. So, finally I decide to completely power off my machine versus just restarting it without actually powering it down. What do you know? This works...now it boots up properly and detects my cd burner and dvd rom drive. Is that not flaky or what? Damn thing has a mind of its own....I don't get it. thanks for working now, computer. Anyone ever seen a PC flake out like that?
I had that problem once on my dads old puter It wouldnt recognize the CD-Rom. I finally gave up afer many reboots and turned it off. I came back later powered it up and voila it worked. BTW: I would like to congradulate all of you other guys on 1 more free post.
