Obviously with our latest loss it would seem our roster is in dire need of changes... so let's play a game (akin to ****, marry, kill). Cut, Trade, Waive the following: John Wall [Trade] Victor Oladipo [Trade] Eric Gordon [Trade] PJ Tucker [Trade] Ben Mclemore [Waive] Danuel House [Trade] Rodions Kurucs [Cut]
Waive Boogie Cut Bruno Trade Everyone but Wood, Walls and Tato and Mason and Porter Jr and Patton I hate tanking, but this squad is showing no pride in their abilities.
Wall isn't tradeable. Our only option is a buyout. And there is no way Tillman is doing that. I also think McLemore has more value than you're giving him credit for. There are a lot of teams that will give up at least a second round pick to get a guy who can shoot like him off the bench.
Is there a difference between cutting and waiving? I think you meant cut, trade, keep. Keep: Tate, Wood, Nwaba [he's cheap and cheap effective wing defenders with a good transition game aren't a dime a dozen, we struggled to find anyone between Ennis, the expensive corpse of Shumpert, and super expensive Covington] Trade: Everyone else - get at least a few tall people. Basketball reasons. Cut: No point unless you need to for a trade Tank: Yes, get at least one lottery pick to include in a retool
CUT OR TRADE EVERYONE without the last name Wood, Jones, Tate, or Porter. Please let me know when this is complete so I can start tuning in again.
Absolutely needs to get traded to highest bidder before the deadline Victor Oladipo PJ Tucker Boogie Cousins (maybe a 2nd rounder - otherwise cut) Zero or negative trade value John Wall Danuel House Ben Mclemore Trade if you can - otherwise wait for a better deal Eric Gordon
This all went to immediate **** the second they traded 2 picks and 2 swaps for Westbrook. The Fertita boys were the main catalyst to that **** deal. If Harden basically said get Russ or I want out, they should have traded Harden for a ton of assets then and held onto CP3 for one more year. I hated the Brooklyn trade and that's the only Stone move i've absolutely hated. I think he's done okay but ****ed up badly not getting a star in a Harden deal. I don't have faith in the team getting a top pick. I was told by people close to the team at the time of the deal that they viewed Oladipo as a former MVP level player and that the Nets would be bad by 2023. I think they are ****ing insane. I was also told MPJ was going to be a target by the deadline. If they get him, I'll be pumped but it all seems like a drug fueled vision of grandeur.
lol what? Morey wasn't even on the team anymore when we acquired the two guys who make the most Money on this team. PJ is expiring. House and Mclemore are in really team friendly deals. Even EG contract isn't horrible. It's like 17 million. Only long contract we even have is Wall and that has nothing to do with Morey......
First, there are 15 other tank threads this could have gone in. Second, all of these moves are likely to be attempted. You're just going to have to be a little patient and wait for the trade deadline when more teams are going to be ready to deal. Third, I'd drastically lower your expectations for trading John Wall due to his contract. And maybe even slightly lower expectations for Gordon. I have a hard time believing the contenders who are already cap/luxury tax bound are going to be willing to pay for three seasons at $18 mil/year for an oft-injured player in his mid 30s. Maybe we can trade Gordon for a worse/injured player with a similar contract that has one year less on their contract.
Mpj is really not that awesome. He's not someone that is going to carry this franchise. Oladipo and Wall are like a discounted versions of our team last season. The silver lining is Wood. I would not trade a draft pick for the MPJ. Only our vets that might help the Nuggets. We're going to be bad. Now let's see if we can only be bad for 1 year or if it drags out. A guy like Cade could turn us around like Doncic did in a season. He and Kevin Porter Jr. Combined with Wood could potentially be a lethal combination. Cade at the 3/2 and Kevin Porter at 3/2. Both those players can help Wood get the ball. I don't see a future with Tate. He's 6'4 and wants to play pf? He hasn't shown me Barkley nor Draymond Green. He's definitely not strong enough to play small ball 5 like Tucker.
EG Contract is horrible. Luckily he's played better this season. Last year it looked like one of the worst contracts in the league.
Um, yes it does. The only reason we have John Wall is because Morey traded for Westbrook. And having John Wall plus an extra first round pick was actually a solution to Morey's mistake.
