Couple more temp closes today due to employees testing positive, including my local favorite T-Bone Toms. I wasn’t being the most responsible the last 2 weeks. But back to being a hermit.
Was at Brenner's on the Bayou this eve. Going to Eunice this weekend. We were about to go to Caracol but, and I can't make this up, they closed because one of their employees may have been around someone with Covid. This is turning into madness.
It is. They still have Brash which just reopened to the public AND is going to start selling retail very soon. Makes me happy...I love me some p***y Wagon and EZ7.
I heard their employee did have Covid. Nothing wrong with taking precautions. Thats absolutely what they should do.
Pappas will permanently close 5 restaurants in Houston https://abc13.com/6256427/?ex_cid=T...JkcDYCzQohMEdxRUIelQchuIOUugYUqBd0sTx6XXLvjDU Yia Yia Mary's Mediterranean Kitchen Pappas Seafood House at I-45 North at Aldine Bender Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen on Richmond near Kirby Pappas Shrimp Shack at I-45 and Woodridge Little Pappas Seafood House on Shepherd and West Alabama
The Pappadeaux did huge business pre-Covid so that is a huge loss. yia yia wasn’t close to as good as Niko Niko’s (even that Ekko’s gas station on Richmond and Sage has better gyros).
I don't know what it is about Niko Nikos, I don't dislike them but prefer just about anywhere else. I did like Yia Yias.
Sad for Pappas. I almost went into management with them after college and have quite a few friends that are now GMs around the city. They all seem to like working for the company so I hope they still have jobs when this is still over. On the positive side, nearly any restaurant will hire someone who has been through their management program
I sell restaurant tech. POS, menu boards, online ordering etc. I did supply right out of college but switched to tech. My family ran restaurants growing up.
