You would think Abbott would be more proactive, because if this gets rough he is personally screwed.

Nah... no one knows how many cases there are in Russia and North Korea and their numbers cannot be trusted. Also it isn’t a matter of “if” but when it hits India and if it becomes a pandemic there sooner, rather than later; the death rate will be astronomical.

Also China isn’t out of the woods by a long shot. This virus will continue to spread until there is a vaccine or years from now when immunity builds up... assuming it doesn’t mutate into a more successful virus (which is possible).

It makes sense to me. You don't have cases in most counties. Empower the local officials. You don't need big government to tell you what to do. We're big boys. Turner needs to man-up and order the shelter in place instead of deferring. Daddy isn't gonna save you. Grow a dick and make a decision.

    Yep, so here it is:

Mexico To Begin "Healthy Distancing" Amid Criticism It Has Done Too Little Too Late

Mexico's health officials say it's time to keep your distance. Beginning Monday, people will be urged to maintain safe distances from each other, and if possible, work from home. Public schools, which were open through Friday, will remain closed until at least April 20.

As of Saturday night, Mexico's Secretary of Health reported 251 confirmed cases and two deaths from COVID-19. Some state and cities have already imposed stricter measures. Sunday, Mexico City's mayor announced that bars, theaters and museums would be closed, also beginning Monday.

What do you have against India? jk.

I've been asking myself the same thing since there was an initial infection at the end of January sometime. I'm sure they're not testing many people but even the death rate seems to be low (so far, anyway). I would've guessed they'd be more like Iran and Italy.

Quite a few factors, the primary 2 being better diets focused on grains and vegetables leading to better immune systems, and hotter weather.

It's between 80 and 95 degrees every day and night.

The areas with more moderate / warmer weather have more natural barriers to transmission.

New Zealand is going into their highest level of lockdown due to finding their first 2 cases coming from community spread.
