Went to the autograph signings with a lot of the Astros players. Saw them first hand. Yeah, you get the impression that Correa maybe has a bit more of an ego than others I ran into. But hey, if that drives him to be better, he can have as big of an ego as he wants. I mean, I feel like a dick even alluding to something that I might be completely wrong about (one note, though- don't wear sunglasses indoors, Carlos).

My son got pictures with Chris Devensky, Dallas Keuchel, and Will Harris. Since there wasn't too long of a line, he was able to speak very briefly with them. Will Harris was the quietest, Chris Devensky was a little more talkative, and Dallas was the friendliest (my son's favorite is Devo. He was texting me several times when he was at college this past semester- and not one word about grades, how he's doing, etc.- every text was "Devo!" after he had a strong inning. I just texted in response whatever names of 80s bands I could think of- "Spandau Ballet?" "The Thompson Twins?" "Ratt?").

I'm sure the Astros will do the right thing. Within reason.

Why does Betts get to play center tho?

Does seem weird given he plays RF full-time while Springer plays CF, but reality is Betts is the better OF period. Springer and Judge are quality defenders, but Betts is elite.

So much young talent around the league. I was laughing when some national millennial sports guy said summer league basketball is better than Mlb regular season, then I went into a rage after I stopped laughing.

I see Mills is the manager since Francona is out.... I find that odd.

Seems like they should then reward the other ALCS manager... or just let the manager of the best AL team (who's usually on the staff anyways) take over.

The HR Derby is soooooo much more pleasant to watch without Berman. It's something when the announcers know the players are the show...not them.

I was thinking we were going to get a Springer, Altuve, Correa top of the 1st.

Looking back was Ed Wade the evil savior we weren't ready for?
    Altuve, Springer, Dallas, Pence.
    Just cheesecake for thought.

I though Wade did well with what cards he was dealt. McLane didnt want to tank and Wade got talent in the draft while still gluing a big league team roster in place. I think Wade did great and is a good GM( Luhnow outclasses him and most other GMs for that matter), he is a big reason we are sitting where we are sitting now without having the chance to tank.

Wade did a good job for the most part (getting fleeced in the Bourn deal though still hurts). The drafting wasn't great over his 4 years, but they did get Castro, JD, Keuchel, & Springer. Not sure how involved the GM is in those lower picks though and I doubt he had any involvement with Altuve.

While he got a lot for Pence, but it did turn out to be for 4 non-quality players (thankfully we traded one while his value was high).
