Chandler Parsons gets the max. Gordon Hayward gets the max. Lance Stephenson is barely offered around 10 million. Lowry signs for 12 million. Lebron and Bosh are asked to take hefty pay cuts. Do you think players like Parsons and Hayward would get max deals if they were black? Discuss.
what?!?! Lowry/Lebron took less, and Lance is a bonehead cancer few want to over pay for. That doesn't change the fact that Gordon/Parsons will be overpaid, but that hardly translates to all white players. This is D&D territory btw...
No. Good young players with high potential get overpaid. See Rudy Gay, Eric Gordon, Tyreke Evans, etc.
At this point in their careers I think most would safely say Lowry is a much more valuable player than Hayward or even Parsons. You could make the case that good PGs are a dime a dozen but you really think a player like Hayward is that rare? I sure don't.

Why are you trying to find controversy where there isn't one? Hayward and Parsons are young SFs who are in great demand and they are in no position to take paycuts to win. Lowry's position is filled with great players, so again the market is dictating the price. LeBron and Bosh would easily get the max from another team, but they want to win. Lance is a headcase. So what of the above is controversial? Btw, Dirk and Ginobili were/are taking a paycut and they're white. OMG controversy, they're white and underpaid, let's start another stupid thread!!

It's not safe to say, that's the problem. Lowry has a history of many injuries and conflicts, and now it's his career year, and all of a sudden he's in his best physical shape and on his best behavior. If he was younger, or if he was more proven, he'd be a max player, no questions asked.
Not Lin bashing but you make a good point. There have been thousands of posts on CF talking about Lin's marketing appeal. Those thousands of posts support race/ethnicity as a basis for valuing a player. Yes I think whites get more due to perceived appeal to the white fan base.
