SA committed 18.3 fouls per game and Rockets committed 19.9 fouls per game during the regular season. In the last two games in this series, SA averaged 17.5 fouls and Rockets averaged 17 fouls. Those numbers look pretty consistent to me unless both team changed their styles of play dramatically.

he would force him to sell the team.

alexander walks up to him with one guard, and Adam Silver would say we are forcing Alexander to sell the team because he came at me menacingly with his posse.

Here's the thing abt that horrendous refeereing in the 1Q. Mature teams would fight through that and still find a way to win. The rockets let simple **** like that push em over the ledge and just keel over..... it's so easy to rig rox games bc of that

There are many, many other posts in other threads regarding not all fouls are created equal. There are most definitely horrible, momentum busters which is what happened, and the three SAS fouls after bench cleared in Game 2 are just balancing the numbers.

Also, Look at the FTA numbers. Part of our complaint is Ginobody, Kawhi and Patti got awarded incorrect shooting fouls, that should have been on the floor, and two bs technical fouls.

We led the whole league in FTA at 26.5/game. Last two game we're like -10 from that. Anyhoot, if you can't see what happened and just want to quote number of PFs, you're in the wrong thread.

the problem is that this logic would say any more or any less fouls is an aberration. It's not a quantity thing as much as a quality thing.

They've given Harden some of his perimeter contact fouls. but in game 2 we drove the paint a lot and our bigs were getting wrecked on over the back calls. Refs shouldn't be calling fouls to an average. A foul is a foul is a foul.

Hmm. What are some possible reasons for that?

Silver was there? They should've canceled the halftime events and just put Les, Pop, and Silver in the middle of the court arguing the whole time. Missed opportunity for some REAL entertainment.

Great point. When the game is rigged, just don't call fouls so the box score looks good to box score watchers.

@boiler's stat watching can't show the no calls on Harden drives and over the backs/ shoving on Capela that allowed for softer help defense in the lane, favoring SAS as they could stick more to perimeter.

SAS doesn't attack the rim with drives like that, so calling to an average is hugely in their favor...foul is a foul.

This. This needs to be said every time there is a discussion about fouls.

You can't just look at numbers like that. There are so many circumstances. Could be that the fouls SA committed were after the blowout?

This is almost as dumb as looking at +/- to judge players

Let's not be 'those guy's ... "Good teams don't lose close games they avoid them." Fact is apart from the first game almost everyone is shooting like absolute SSHHIITT !!! Coach needs to start giving Troy, Bobby and Kyle some minutes if he's just expecting 3's to drop vs you know coaching and stuff.

Agree, this two moments was very clear
Harden was hammer at the star of the game with no calls

at the end the refs made some calls for us , but was to the late, the game was over
