    I know right? Maybe when he left Man U but I was upset (as a Barca fan) when Beck's left Real because I knew they were going in the right direction.

    Can't agree with Jordan. I think they want to put him up there because he was a good player. But, the team was still good after his first departure. And, they knew the second departure was coming, prepared for it and blew up the team to start rebuilding when it happened. That's not a devestation.

    Deion Sanders leaving SF didn't devastate them at all. Steve Young's concussions took down that team. And while he was a star, he wasn't the face of the franchise, not even close. He meant more to Dallas (and Atlanta) then he did the 49ers.

    First retirement: they were still very good, and Pippen was really establishing himself as a bonafide standalone franchise guy.

    Second retirement: Going from "class of their own" champs to 10 years of being completely out of contention is devastation. Michael leaving meant Phil wasn't going to stay and Rodman was gone. Pippen was leaving no matter what. There wasn't much left for Chicago to blow up. They moved Kukoc and that was it. Crumbs thought he was going to have them contending again in 3 years (organizations make championships)....and it wasn't until they drafted Rose that they could be taken seriously again.

    All that said, the string was all but run out anyway.

    I guess this is the opposite of the Ewing Effect. LOL

    I was about to list Kareem Abdul Jabbar, but . .. the Bucks had the same identical record with him in 74-75, as they did in 75-76. 38-44

    The Deion pick was a joke. The Niners had two devastation, Steve Young. They haven't been a serious favorite, since he left for anything. Jeff Garcia was good, but they weren't going to make a dynasty out of that team.


    Michael Vick (Atlanta Falcons) it was temporary, but they were lucky Ryan fell to 3 . . . Miami seems allergic to good QBs in post Marino years).

    Wilt Chamberlain (San Francisco Warriors)

    Charles Barkley (Philadelphia 76ers)
    Oscar Robertson (Cincinnati Royals)



    If you put Shaq going into LA on the list, you have to also put Shaq leaving LA, as well.

    Olajuwon was already in serious decline, when he left the Rockets, as we had already grown to a shell of the former teams.
