Durvasa is hurt by having 20k+posts in only 5 years on the board. So his posts after the rep system were introduced are larger than say... Clutch. Clutch has been a member for 12 years and only has 11734 posts, in comparison.
Ummm... I'm #59, sir. That's what SHE said! ^ I know, I know... that's not a "quality" post... but it makes me feel better, at least.
I have over 1700 rep and 11 boxes, so, it gets harder the higher you go. Not sure of the specific numbers required though.
Seems like the formula sucks then. How can it measure quality if it actually punishes people for not being here long enough?
No, you are absolutely correct. I had no way of knowing after 9 boxes the metric changes. Altho the example you gave shows consistency as I assume 100 points = 1 square. Could you care to provide me with an accurate list -> ie -> 1 rep square = x 8 rep squares = 8x 9 rep squares = ? 10 rep squares = ?
Whoops sorry. I was just going off what Prince stated. And this also doesn't take into account how many posts were made after the rep system was instilled.
Gotta agree with droopy, just knowing the guys on this list, you know statistics can't give you the whole answer. One of the top 5 is on my ignore list even. One skew I don't think the OP has considered is that some people manage to get rep by being a champion in a highly partisan argument. And by 'champion' I mean a stubborn zealot, not a good poster. I think DaDakota has way too many posts to compete here. I think he accounts for half the posts on the board.
Noted, specifics would be needed for tweaks! Donny, I cannot quote your earlier post. So let me address by points 1. The weight classes penalize newer posters based on the assumption that they have most of their posts in the last 3 years. It is incremental based on how long you have been registered. 2. True, noted in the original post. I used a linear formula instead of a possible degen or pos exponential one. 3.Specifics would be appreciated!
What I'm taking away from this is that I should be posting way, way more. EDIT: Also, 8 years... DAMN.
