I appreciate Clutch for all he has done with this site, which I've followed for roughly 18 years, but he needs a daily writer to post the highlights of each game on the main site. Back in the day you'd get a really concise, detailed view of what occured each game. Over the last decade we got a paragraph. Still OK, but not like it was. Now I'm going to the Front Page and still seeing a miraculous win over the Jazz, when the Rox have been anything but miraculous over the past 2+ weeks. I'm not asking Hardisty to work harder; he's my age and life changes; especially passion-wise. I'd just really like to see him find a fan on here who is a great writer and has the passion to write about every game like he once did.
@elmotsangtt @JaceMan da SpaceMan Also have you tried following the @basketballholic daily newsletter?
The caption “what just happened, watch the 4th quarter” has worked for all of the games since the jazz game so there actually is no need to change it
I'm certain we can find a new good writer. David was so good, he walloped all of the others down back in the 90's and all web writers joined ClutchCity.com rather than keeping their own Rockets website up. He's done a great job; this has always been considered the "Holy Grail" of fan-based sites. As a Houstonian, I'd like to keep it that way, and some new blood needs to man the helm to keep it that way.
What is this “Front Page” you speak of? I’m only aware of bbs.clutchfans.net, and it serves my needs fully.
In this day and age I think the articles are a luxury. Information goes stale so quickly - I would rather see clutch posting more on the board than writing articles. Sadly many great posters stay away because of trolls and others who have an agenda while idiots like basketballholic who know nothing are treated like coach k
This pretty much captures the changes and challenges in sports fan media. Think of your internet activity as an ecology. There are lots of smart articles about the Rockets. This board does a good job of linking to them and providing a platform to discuss them. The other things Clutch provides, such as his podcast and roster updates, are a bonus. Clutchfans doesn't have to publish its own articles to be hugely and uniquely valuable. As to the trolls/shouting problem: That's on us. Be citizens, people. When you come here, do your part to raise the level of discussion and to scold or ostracize those who lower it.
Ignore everyone throwing shade @ you. You are 100% correct. It's something I'm sure that every clutchfan has noticed, but didn't have the balls to say it. I assume Clutch & crew have too much on their plate. I visit this site BY FAR more than others. If parts of the site need to be delegated, so be it. There's no reason why we should see a comeback win over the Jazz on the front page. I'm willing to help in anyway I can. Clutchfans is the first thing I check when I wake up; it's the last thing I check in bed. Clutchcrew, please discuss what can be done to keep the site as current as possible. Whatever happens, I'm grateful and loyal but this is a subject that needs discussed. Thanks OP
