There’s something wrong with the D when Reed is your backstop. And there’s something wrong with your O when you’re hoping that Aaron Holiday would make a difference.
That’s the issue. They gave up shooting and toughness for 1 dominant scorer. The whole identity of this team changed I think. The defense just isn’t the same. Last year I saw when the defense came alive and turned it up. You could visibly see it. There was an aura. They would get stops and turnovers and frustrate teams. It’s just so loose this year for some reason and the rotations have been bad.
I’m predicting some pretty good gifs on the Wemby/Reed matchups this game. I can see it happening once, but twice?
I believe Cade is overrated, by a little less that Paolo. I think Amen will be better than Cade and Jabari will be better Paolo. Jalen was the real miss, but I don’t blame them for it. Sometimes you swing and hit a homer, sometimes you whiff.
That is not why I said that, lol, but you are entitled to your opinions. I think the problem with Detroit is that they have started to be really good defensively but from a team building stand point. They still do not have the ball handlers that right now the Spurs have or the Thunder ------ multiple capable ball handlers and table setters. One Cade is not enough .....against all beliefs. This is not about overrated or underrated. And you give me Paolo or Amen, both are not guards. Ivey should have developed there but he did not.
I think for Amen to breakout Sengun needs to go. The offense then would open up and center around him and KD.
Steven Adams and Dillon Brooks were vital to that. That didn't matter in the playoffs, either, though.
Just finished watching the game. A few thoughts: One of the worst defensive performances I've seen from the Rockets this season. Tari looked very bad. I'm starting to question his future with this team and why he's even starting. Not a good game from Alpi. I'm open to trading him, but it has to be the right deal.
If FVV comes back then it's time to see what's up and what we will be going into the playoffs if not then this is a wasted year. Why get your hopes up for all this bs. Rockets clearly dont GAF so why should we this year. Mantle is going from LeBron to Wemby and with the NBA doing that F it everyone sees this brand of basketball as soft AF anyway. F em.
