ClutchFans Game Thread: Raptors @ Rockets 3/10/2026

The freaking tanking Jazz just beat the Warriors tonight. The Rockets on the other hand lose to them.

 

we've been middling for a while. Since the ASG we are 6-4 but we are kind of lucky to be that. 4 of our wins are against tanking teams and we didn't even look great against them. Our most inexplicable win was actually against Charlotte who were rolling but we beat them in the first game back from the ASG. The best game we played was probably our loss to the Knicks. Our schedule is getting harder from now on so we could easily fall down to 6th seed.

I have tickets to the game, not sure if I want to go. The Rockets were pretty fun early on in the season but holy hell they've gone back to early 00s basketball of grinding it out. It's been miserable to watch although I still appreciate the wins.

I disagree about the schedule. It's frankly a joke after this B2B with Toronto and Denver. They still get to play New Orleans and Memphis two more times each. They've got another home game vs Utah. Philly and Atlanta(who granted are on a roll right now) still come to Toyota Center. The Bucks will visit in 3 weeks. And there's a road game at the Bulls.

On that 6-4 record post-break, it's worth noting that the Ime-preferred starting lineup(Alpi, Jabari, Tari, Amen, KD) is 3-3. The Reed-led starting 5 is 3-1. And 2 of those wins from Ime's starting 5 were thanks in large part to Reed and other reserves(Charlotte, Orlando).

This is the single most important missing play since FVV has been out.
FVV/ Sengun PnR gave Alpy cleaner looks at the ring OR open 3s for Fred.

 

I just looked at schedules and I see Minn 51 Rox 51 Den 50 and Lal 46 wins at the end of the year. We play Minn at home on 4/10 and have to win that game or we fall to 4th. If we lose that game we could even fall behind Den, yikes. 3rd is much better, avoid OKC as long as possible.

 

Today's going to be a tough one to the end, but can pull it out if they have an 8+ point lead within the last 5 minutes.

 

I used to play up to 4 on 4 in a Houston City Club converted racquetball court similar to this. You had to walk through the indoor tennis courts to get to our court and after about 2 years, the tennis ladies got it shut down, because they could hear all the cussing. Occasionally, Rodney McCrae would play with us. Sometimes I’d have to guard him and he always would yell mouse in the house and then shoot a three. He wouldn’t post up unless they had to have the win to stay on the court. Good times!

 

If only he bounced back in meaningful games.

 

A lot of doomsday people in here. Do I think we are winning it all? No. Do I think there’s some problems with our rosters that we need to address this offseason? Yes. But don’t pretend being 4th in the west is the worst case scenario.
