Agreed! This is why Dwight's post up game doesn't work. He wants to muscle his way in but guys can just flop or draw a charge. This is why I don't think someone like Shaq could make it in today's NBA.
The Jeremy Lin airball made me chuckle a little. Anyone remember or have a clip of his late game airball against the Heat back when he was playing here?
I guess we can use the schedule -- third game in four nights -- as a little excuse. Usually this Nets team shouldn't stand a chance here. But still, I love how the Rockets are able to win dirty and make elite defensive plays in the final minutes. That's how you run for Homecourt in the Playoffs. And I'm really glad that Lin started with these weird haircuts when he was outta here. That would've made it unbearable to watch Rockets games on regular bases.
Harden executed well in the 4th. Ariza's block saved us. NeNe and Gordon played well. The FT shooting has been bad lately. Players are getting in their own heads. Play with a hacky sack or something lol. Capela needs to just do jumping jacks in front of the Rockets FT shooters until it's time for them to shoot lol. That would take their minds off of it not letting the pressure get to them. Plus they will see how open they are when he moves.
Great win but way too close for comfort. Bev, Ariza are bad asses. Gordon - what a pickup. Harden is doin his thing.
bad teams are allowed to have great shooting nights. kilpatrik had 75 fg% and 100 3p% but, great teams are not allowed to loose to bad teams on great shooting nights.
It could've been different had this been later in the season, but for now, I get the feeling that the coaches are comfortable not messing with the defensive strategy too much and letting the team play through their mistakes. But it will be interesting to see how they handle Lopez if they play the Nets again.
Interesting quote from MDA after the game... "the first thing that goes when you're not tuned-in totally is transition defense" Probably true of any team regardless of level. Glad to hear the defensive philosophies of the coaching staff.
love this comment from the article: "Part of the reason I love James Harden so much is that it seems like every season has a new narrative with him, and I get to decide if I love or hate him all over again. He’s like the Jimmy McNulty of the NBA."
