Well guys, you know me. I like drafts. The Rockets are in a good position either way. Looking forward to what the Rockets do tonight.
I don't see a great package that the Rockets would fall in love with. They don't control any of their future 1st, and while I like Rubio, he isn't the sort of "all in" type move I think we're ready for.
If we are being offered Rubio for #18 tjones, pap and prigs you take that deal....in that scenario could we sign KD next year if we trade ariza?
I would rather have Lull at 6 too, but who knows where his mind is right now...i dont mind the 13 mill as long as it doesent prevent us from being able to sign Durant or a max Fa outright next year..Iam in the miniority but i dont think we "need" love or Lma but we do need a playmaking defensive pg
What this tells me is we suddenly feel very confident about Sergio Llull and will be scratching and clawing for roster spots this offseason. For Morey it's always been easy to accumulate assets when he had none. What's been more difficult has been the process of consolidation, trading 2 for 1 or 3 for 2 while maintaining decent value. That sort of thing. We'll see if he can combine draft picks and role players to get something more...condensed, in value this time around.
I think it would though. Durant's max in 2016 will be around $27-28. Harden will make about $17, and Dwight's max will be $31. I do not think Dwight will sign for the max, but it won't be a penny less than what Durant signs for. So 27+27+17=71. While Rubio's $13 million that year might barely fit in under the cap, it means that you will lose EVERYONE else......DMo, Capela, etc. Rubio's value is not so much greater than Llull's that you sacrifice all the young talent you've accumulated. In contrast, 27+27+17+6=77. That gives you the ability to keep DMo, Capela, Johnson, and your picks from this year.
