Its got your boy Drummonds name all in it, for biggest bust in the draft. From some of the most knowledgeable college fans anywhere on the net.
I think we're trying to get #2 for Beal and not Drummond. Give Charlotte a veteran and some picks. I doubt we get Howard. Maybe we do end up with Gasol. Hopefully we keep one drafted player.
If people could predict busts why would highly informed GM's ever pick busts? If people could predict sleepers why wouldn't highly informed GM's pick them earlier? There a million variables that effect the future, some with the slightest nuance have the biggest effect. But since somebody predicts every outcome, someone will appear clairvoyant by random chance.
The Jimmy Johnson football draft theory is to draft as many good players as you can, let them compete to see who is the best. Keep them and cut the rest. We could trade for a Super Star or we could stack up with good players to develop one of our own.
Did not realize Drummond was my boy. I wouldn't be shocked if he were considered a "bust" to those who think he'll someday be on Dwight Howard's level. I see him more as a DeAndre Jordan type. Anaemic offense, but good help defender/shotblocker and pretty good rebounder. Also, LOL at Yahoo! message boards being home to most knowledgeable college fans.
For those going to the draft party, check the clearance rack in the Rocket's shop. My guess is you will see a player's jersey on the rack that will be traded for sure. Swift jersey was on the rack the night of the Gay/Battier trade. Wishing Morey good luck tonight, whatever his plan may be.
I know, but having 3-mid first round picks in basketball sort of equates to having 4 or 5 mid-round picks in football. You think they are good players but you have to get them in camp and compete to see who has it and who doesn't. I'm pretty sure we won't end the evening with 3, 2012 rookies though, just a back up strategy maybe. (4 with Monty)
