Now we know why CLINT was sad. LAKERS used up cap space to sign LEBRON. No space for CLINT For big money

CLINT GOT no one signing here. He's back to Houston on a cheap contract

Most likely Lakers said if they dont get lebron they would sign him to be part of the youth movement. With lebron they are probably all in trying to get Boogie or need the space to take back a bad contract from Spurs in a possible Kawhi trade

Morey probably told him to take LA's offer. Tillman isn't paying the massive tax

Copyright infringement. Time for Tilman to pull a Buccees and protect his brands.

Let's look at it logically. If you're Murray, you don't have to make him an offer yet. You just say, "Clint, we love you and want you here. You're perfect for our team. We can't imagine life without you. Blahblahblah... And we intend to match whatever contract offer you get."

Then send him out into the world to see what other teams think of him.

If you're Magic and Pelinka, you say, "Hey, we'd love to have you here with LeBron, but we can't afford to tie up all that money until we see what the Spurs are going to do with Kawhi. We'll get back to you as soon as we know more."

So just a month after everyone on the planet was saying you're going to cash in big on a max contract this summer, you suddenly realize that might not happen at all. You might even have to settle for something in the $15M/yr range.

    Would YOU be happy?

The reality is if Capela was worth the max he would have been offered the max. As much as I like him, he’s not.

Capela is sad because Magic Lakers used him as a tool to sign Lebron.

Anderson was offered 18M when he was only worth 1.8M so that logic is immediately false.

What you are offered depends more on the timing of your FA just as much as ypur actual talent. If Ayton wasn't in this year's class Capela would have gotten a max offer from PHX and if Lebron had signed with Houston he would have gotten a max offer from Dallas.
