Wow! <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Man, $106M, max contract for CJ McCollum? <a href="https://t.co/bETMP1iEmw">pic.twitter.com/bETMP1iEmw</a></p>— Sports on Earth (@SportsonEarth) <a href="https://twitter.com/SportsonEarth/status/757622778367356928">July 25, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
There was no question CJ was going to get maxed. Paul Allen just throwing money around right and left, LOL.
This isn't that surprising to me. McCollum is an up and coming star that averaged 21 PPG last season and has had two good post-seasons. The way Portland has been paying players this offseason (and the rest of the league) this isn't surprising. I still don't know why they signed Crabbe AND Turner though. There payroll is insane.
This, my friends, is how you not only get firmly onto the Treadmill of Mediocrity, but how you buy the whole damn warehouse.
I think that just put Moe Harkless out the door. Could be that young up and comer at the three spot. I would move Brewer for Harkless
Nobody should have a problem with it. Portland was not keeping him for any less, and they obviously had to keep him. It's just nice to know that we are getting James Harden for what others are getting 2nd and 3rd tier guys like CJ McCollum.
