I don't remember yoyo saying that... but maybe it had something to do with his comfort with the players he was with... by the last Rockets game in summer league I was impressed by him.
I guess I could bother digging it up, but he knows he said it...and is a stand up guy. Ish Smith is the best passer on the Rockets by a long way, he sees the floor very well, you can just see it. But in the SL, there is not much time to get chemistry etc.....so maybe he looked a bit tenative...clearly, he is a good passer. I am so happy we have our 3rd PG, if either AB or KL were out we would have been screwed in previous years, it looks like Ish can give us some decent minutes as a backup to either AB or KL in a pinch. Good job Morey. DD
Agree. For now, this might be the best course of action. It would need to be evaluated regularly though.
As BimaThug pointed out, this really accentuates Smith's real problem. I was really impressed with Smith's passing skills, but he needs to spend time with the Vipers working long and hard on his shooting and free throw skills. Otherwise, defenders will not honor his drives as they do when Chuck Hayes gets the ball more than five feet from the basket.
Exactly. I like Ish but he was playing against the Pacers' young guards, not Billups, Dwill, Kidd, Miller who like to post up small guards like Brooks and Smith.
All I can say is I was at the Pacers game, and Ish is so much fun to watch! I was very impressed with his creativity with the basketball and he is quick. I hope he becomes a regular because I haven't had that much fun watching a single player in a long time!
