I'm not going to make thread or a big deal out of it, but I just saw rafer alston at IAH and said what's up to him. it was about an hour ago in the C Terminal. I couldn't build up the nerve to ask him if he thought he would make it to a training camp, but I did thank him for his years in Houston...
Temple didn't look much better the other night in our game against the spurs. At least give him a chance.. he's a rookie.
I've only seen the first half of this game.. and summer league and the open practice, but I can safely say that Ish has the quickness, handling, and passing ability to be a backup pg in this league. 3rd string makes us the most stackd pg team in the league..
OH! and i also got to meet the guy and he was WAY cool to talk to, very down to earth. He just kept laughing at all my goofy questions..
A PG that only shot 50 percent from the FT for an entire season in college. Can't shoot is an understatement.
Does Ishmael's "Magic Johnson" passing skills make Lowry expendable? Does Ishmael's "Magic Johnson" passing skills make Lowry expendable? I SAY YES!!!! Cavaliers still want Lowry and looking to rebuild. Therefore, Antawn Jamison is probably on the trading block. I would package a Lowry and Jeffries for Jamison. DO IT MOREY!
kneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee jerk. the kid is a nice player, but let's wait and see what he can do over at least half a season.
Depends on how he does when the real games start. By February, maybe the Rockets look to move Lowry in order to pay AB next summer. Dealing Lowry and Jeffries for Jamison would be just plain nutty.
Great game by Ish. But it's just one game. Let's see how he responds once other teams scout his weaknesses and prepare for him. This was his first real game action, so other teams had no idea about his game and let him do whatever he wanted. At the NBA level, it's all about what you can do once other teams have scouted you out. If he can keep improving his game, then we may have 3 quality NBA starting point guards on our team.
Signing him wouldn't hurt. Hell, this could possibly put us in play for a big-name through a trade and actually being able to trade away one of our PGs without sacrificing too much depth at the PG position.
I know it was just a single pre-season game, but how are you feeling about this quote right about now?
