With 32 games left if we win 24 of them that puts us at 61-21. Best regular season ever.

Harden has to kill Cleveland tonight to make the doubters believe this is his MVP

So when Harden's the clear MVP favorite...the media is like HOLD ON..IT'S ONLY 50 GAMES IN..THERE'S STILL A CHANCE IT'S SOMEONE ELSE.

Last year 10 games in: "WB IS AVERAGING TRIPLE DOUBLE. IT'S OVER"

I'll feel certain of Harden winning it, when "Bobby Brown" sends a message to Beard saying he will be the MVP! ;)

Didn’t Simmons vote for Harden last year? I don’t think it’s a problem to say it’s not even the midpoint of the season yet. At this point Harden is clearly the MVP but that’s all we can really say.

    It's mostly true.

Now... whether James SHOULD be hated because of this is a different question.

He sure as hell shouldn't be losing MVPs/Awards/Honors because.

No problem as long as, "Harden is the clear current front-runner", accompanies said statement.

If it doesn't, he/she is hating.

I mean, I get what you're saying...but circumstances don't really matter. As an MVP hopeful, if you're going to have a dip at any point in the season, you're better off having it early than late.

Last year, James' wrist injury happened toward the end of the season and he struggled a bit, including a couple of horrendous shooting performances in losses to the Warriors on national TV. Meanwhile, Westbrook went on a tear in his final stretch of games, including a 57/13/11 overtime win @ Orlando and a 50/11/10 buzzer beater win @ Denver in his last meaningful moment of the season.

Rearrange the timelines a bit and maybe James has a chance.

Eh, Simmons gave him lots of love last year when most of the world was all over Westbrook. I’m giving him a pass.

Do you think I'm arguing that Harden shouldn't have won MVP over Westbrook?

Yes...if Harden and Westbrook's high and low points in the season had come at different times than they did, there's a chance the media would have voted Harden instead. You've misinterpreted what I was saying.

To be fair, Simmons voted for Harden last year and even wants to have "Right side of history" t shirts made for choosing Harden over Westbrook. Simmons and Kevin O Connor are pretty good Harden supporters imo.

I heard him on a podcast saying he wanted to make t-shirts that implied that if you didn't vote for Harden in 2016/2017 for MVP you were on the wrong side of history.

He definitely gets a pass. However, because of the shortened pre-season teams have played WAY more games than is normal before the All-Star Break. The season is about 2/3rd of the way through. It isn't like the All-Star break is the halfway point.
