Chris "Grandpa" Paul for $40mm/yr, or Beverley + Montrezl for $12mm/yr + 1st rd pick?

    Within a year or two, Chris Paul's deal is going to make Ryan Anderson's contract look like a rookie scale Chandler Parsons in terms of value. BTW, Montrezl Harrell has a 24.56 PER and Paul's is 18.02. This is the first year of Paul's deal and he is already 33.

    Did we win or lose this trade?

    I'd add Louis Williams and Sam Dekker, 2015 1st round 18th pick overall

    Beverley + Montrezl + Louis Williams + 2015 First +2018 First = Paul

    CF is full of trolls and burner accounts. And trolls with burner accounts.

    When JC Denton first started posting, it was really obvious he was trolling, and likely a burner for someone else. He's trying to play it closer to the vest now, but his threads are always meant to inflame.

    Honestly if it was just Beverley + Montrezl and a first rounder, that would have been fine. Even Dekker, I didnt want to see leave, but honestly I can understand needing to depart with a young guy. Lou hurt. Would have been great to do more to keep him or if trading him keeping Montrezl. To lose all them in one deal like gutted the roster core when it was right at the cusp. That said, frankly Montrezl and Beverley will be gone soon - Beverley is not the same player he was before the injury, and Montrezl is going to leave after next season (I suspect he will command a much larger salary and that LAC will be looking to move him along with a collection of other players on their team for a stud like Anthony Davis)

    Uncle Paul still has game though. You're comparing the players as if you wouldn't re-sign Paul after being one game away from the Finals. Rockets don't make it that far last season with those players instead, and there is no way possible Beverly and Montrez could have rejoined the team in exchange for Paul after last season so this doesn't make sense. Unless something catastrophic happens Paul will still have value in a couple years. If Melo is still wanted anything is possible.
