Chris Broussard: I hope Rockets get swept, they symbolize everything wrong with society

I can’t bring myself to listen to this. It’s bad enough being down 0-2. Why compound the misery by paying attention to this stuff?

I agree. The league has gone out of it's way to try to get rid of flopping and drawing FT's. It's not because they don't like Houston or Harden. It's because fans don't like to watch slow games or FT competitions. If anyone is really objective about it, they would agree too. We all know FT competitions suck. That's why they tried to get rid of Hack a Shaq. They tried to get rid of jumping into guys to draw FT's. The quit giving us the sweep through fouls on shots. It's a focused effort by the league.

Furthermore, we all know we like to see made shots instead of bricks. I'd rather see a bunch of successful mid-range jumpers vs a lower percentage of 3's which net the same point value. It's just more fun to watch. We all know we like to see motion offense and high flying dunks too. The NBA wants more of that. The league wants more scoring so they got rid of hand checking and implemented a freedom of movement rule. You can see where they are trying to steer the game.

It's not really working though. Many teams are resorting to our offense because it's the only way you can compete with Superteams. If you don't have the talent (4 allstars vs 1), what are you supposed to do? Try to exploit loopholes in the rules and use math to win.

They are followers of the media machine

It's pretty common to hate a team / player that has so consistently torched your team and embarrassed your best player.

They hate on harden for "flopping", they latched on to the no defense mix tape a few years back and hated for that
They love to hate on him for no playoff success (NBA finals)

Hate is real

 

Stop. This is too far. The man is just doing his job. Just because you don’t agree doesn’t mean he’s wrong or he’s an idiot. It just means you disagree, no reason to wish harm upon him. Isn’t this the “societal issue”?

 

I think he should have his award voting revoked based on this statement alone.

Didn't watch but...The KD Globetrotters ruined the competitiveness of the league for several years. The Rockets are one of the only teams actually trying to catch up to them. Everyone else gave up. Literally last year the Rockets were the only thing standing in the way of another horribly boring Warriors cakewalk. And somehow Rockets are the villain
